The boys that own the huge house next door are getting a new roof. Started yesterday and is continuing today. The sound of their cement roof tiles being thrown into the dumpster is deafening. Also the circular saws that are being used to cut open the plywood in order to install new hurricane straps just adds to the noise.

Just a day of work planned along with doing more lessons from the Adobe classroom books.

Tried to watch the remake of Judge Dread last night. Made it about 30 minutes into the movie before we started forward fasting to see if it was going to get any better, it didn't.

Good morning. No roofing here but I have seen them do it in Toronto during the winter. It just has to be not snowing. It a nice day here, a couple of degrees above freezing -- sunny and clear.

My wife is off on another business trip today in Bermuda! Spending a couple of days in the sun until meetings start on Monday. It's just me and my daughter until Tuesday night.

Today, I have to go to a property my wife and I bought. My contractor friend needs to take some measurements to aid in the creation of some plans we can take to the city.

Other than that, it's reading on mainstream internet marketing today.

Have a good one! |thumb

Oh and I have a very dead 10 year iMac sitting here in the office. It was dropped of yesterday since it wouldn't startup. Its hard drive is dead, dead, dead, won't even show that it has a hard drive in it. It has ten years worth of work on its drive and it was never backed up. I could open it up and put a new drive in it but don't want to get involved it what is going to be a nightmare of opening it up, hoping that the screen doesn't get broken in the process, replacing the drive and then reinstalling everything. Then telling them that ten years worth of work is gone because they are a fucking idiot and never did a backup even once.

I told then it needs to go to the Apple store rather than me getting involved in this money losing mess.

Most people need to experience at least one catastrophic data loss before learning to do regular backups. Quite often one is not sufficient.

Same thing happened to his daughter's Macbook last year. It was a corrupted hard drive and not a mechanical failure though so I was able to retrieve about half of her work. Took me five hours to get everything up and running so she got a rather large bill from me. I showed her Time Machine and all she had to do was to plugin an external drive and let Time Machine do its thing. She still hasn't backed up to this day. |huh
