You have no idea how happy I am that the Bills - and EVERY other team - passed on |pokefun|Geno Smith. I think the sports media wants to make him the next RG3, but my hunch that he SUCKS was proven correct. Nothing that happened last night made me happier than seeing him sit in the Green Room, head in hand, just completely depressed. I fucking hope he's still sitting there tomorrow |nahnah|

Good day all and TGIF.

Wife has to go to Ottawa today for a friend's birthday dinner tonight so that means I'll be staying in Montreal most likely all weekend and can catch up on a lot of work.

No sports or B-days and no sleep here.

Christy’s dad passed at 12:30 this morning so we headed up to the Hospice to meet up with her mom, about 20 minutes away, and then headed up you her mom's place, another 40 minutes further away, and then drove home at 5:30 this morning another hour drive and then headed back to her mom's after a few hours of sleep and grabbing overnight bags.

I'm sitting here watching Season 2 of Falling Skies while the family goes to pick up the cat litter... err I mean ashes or at least make arrangements. I'm not big on supporting the death industry. When my mom died I gave a place my credit card number to pay for the cremation and told them to dispose of the ashes however they wanted to.

I have no emotions on this other than feeling bad for Christy and family since I barely knew the guy and Christy and I hid our relationship from him. I have 5 more hours of Faling Skies and then may hit the gym if I can get a ride there or may just finally get some sleep.

Don't feel like to trying to do much work done on a 17" monitor so just dong minimum today unless I can find an external monitor to hook my Macbook too.

Death Sucks!

First, unequivocally, death does suck, and so does having to deal with how the survivors handle grief, anger, guilt and all the rest. One of my best friends knows her very ill father will be dead in the next few months (or tomorrow) and she's not handling it well. I try to be a good friend about it all, but the man treated her like crap all her life and now she's already pre-grieving about his passing.

One thing I'm glad about has nothing to do with Geno Smith, who I never even heard of until the news mentioned him this morning. No, it's that nothing happened involving the five living presidents who attended the opening of the Bush Library in Texas yesterday. I wondered if the big fertilizer plant explosion near Waco, Texas last week could have been a way to cover up a massive theft of ingredients needed for a huge bomb. But nothing like that has happened yet, so maybe it was just an accident.

Woke up early, mediated for 20 minutes, then ran 1.96 miles according to my phone tracking program!

Went grocery shopping at 7am. Eggs, blueberries, and refilled some jugs of water. Tried to carry it all to the checkout line, but my blueberries slid off, hit the floor and exploded into 30 berries of shame. :(

The rest of the day will be work, Pomodoro style, following by reading a book, playing some chess and cooking a nice dinner. Excited to experiment with my new Wok, red peppers and fresh vine tomatoes!

Afternoon...

Just started playing around with twilio. Very cool way to setup and use calls. Then also in a project further down the road can have the web application send txt msgs too. Very cool.

Other than that it has been a lot of phone calls. At some point today I need to book a trip to ny city to handle a little work for two days.

Alright time to get some food and run an errand.

Cleo: sorry about christy's dad. Death and the emotions that come with it suck.
