To sign up for the pool:

1. Go to www.poolhost.com
2. Click Login (or Register if this is your first time playing)
3. Mouseover Pool Tools (in the top menu) and click "Join a private pool", then click on the "Pro Pickem" icon
4. Pool's login name = pcash13
5. Pool's Password = ImLive
6. NEW FOR RETURNING PLAYERS -- you must log in with the new login pcash13. ALSO: Check in your own poolhost user settings to make sure the email address you have there is current! Also make sure the box is checked to recieve update emails from the pool (so you don't miss any deadlines or pool news)

That's it, once you're registered you are in. Like last year this is a "confidence pool", which means that when you make your weekly picks you will be asked to weight your confidence in each pick (1-14 or 1-16 depending on the week), the higher the number you assign to a pick the more confidence you have in that pick.

Prizes:

This year ALL CASH, up to over $5000 in total prizes!

Weekly -- The top weekly winner throughout the 17 week NFL regular season will receive $100 cash, but here's the kicker --- PussyCash will DOUBLE YOUR WINNINGS to $200 if you've sent at least 1 signup to ImLive.com in the previous 30 days*.

*New affiliates -- for brand new affiliates that win a weekly prize during the regular season you have 30 days from the time you win to make 1 signup to ImLive.com and you too will get your winnings doubled.


Grand Prize -- The GRAND PRIZE to the overall winner (after the playoffs and superbowl) wins the following:

DEADLINES
The season opener (game 1) begins on THURSDAY Sept. 5th with Baltimore Ravens vs the Denver Broncos. However, players have right up until the kickoff of the first game on the SUNDAY of each week to make their picks (Eastern Standard Time). IF YOU MISS PICKING EARLY GAMES (Thursday, Saturday etc) you simply forfiet the points for those games but you can still get your picks in for the remaining games before the usual Sunday deadline. No picks will be entered after the Sunday deadlines.


****NOTE**** You DO NOT NEED any NFL experience in order to play.
Anyone, and we do mean ANYONE can win! NFL games are notoriously fickle events, and even the most seasoned pickers and gamblers have been burned by a last second field goal or "hail Mary" play. There have been people who made random picks in past years who have won prizes.

Keep an eye on the news section of the poolhost.com login page for information about game scheduling, pool pick deadlines, etc. Regular updates will be posted on GFY once the pool commences.

Picks for week 1 are now live, I just made mine.

Some pretty tricky spreads in there already.

Hopefully this year I'll make picks for all 17 weeks & make it back into the Top 10 :D

I can see the writing on the wall. This season is going to be off the hook fun.

Ravens -- winning a SB is one thing, defending it the next year is quite another.
49ers -- redemtion time. It's their year, I can feel it. :D
Broncos -- Peyton takes them from zero to hero last year, they'll be tough this year.
Redskins -- R3G is back. This year will prove it... overrated or SB contender?
Seahawks -- is that Wilson guy as badass as everyone thought he was last year? We'll see.
Cowgirls -- Is this the year Romo doesn't tank?
Colts -- thier finish last year just blew me away.
Gaytriots -- By now they MUST be feeling like they have something to prove, having not won a SB for what, 5 years now? Six? In other news Brady had gas pains in his abdomen yesterday, and today in response the world's oil prices rose $3 a barrel.
Falcons -- After last year's amazing season but disappointing finish you can bet they'll be hungry.
Saints -- did they make the off-season changes needed to put them back on track?
Giants -- Really? THEM again? Geez, maybe there really is something to this 'lesser brother' Eli guy.
Packers -- Oh yeah, don't forget the pack.
Steelers -- Will big Ben be too beat up by week 8 or is this their year to take yet another one? How many will that be, 6? 7? I lost count.

Did I miss anyone?

My beloved Buffalo Bills are starting an undrafted QB in Week 1, the 1st time that has EVER happened since the merger |yawn|

Yes the Bills. They did show some life in a few games last year didn't they. Absolutely hammered a few teams that weren't expecting it as I recall. It will be interesting to see what effect their off-season changes will have this year.

My strategy in my survival pool is to always bet against the bills or the jaguars

That was a hell of a season opener, no? Manning really put on a show at the defending SB champions' expense and is the sixth QB in history to throw seven TD passes in a game. He's the first to do so since Joe Kapp did it in 1969. Manning was 27 of 42 for 462 yards with no picks for a QB rating of 141.1

The Ravens meanwhile have had their defense decimated, with losing a bunch of key veteran guys, and the Broncos really exposed that last night. Anyone in the pool who wasn't scared off by the big -8.5 spread and went with Denver got themselves a good start to their season.



SUNDAY is the final deadline for week 1 picks, btw. So if anyone is late to the party you haven't missed too much yet. Get in now, and remember to send some extra traffic to ImLive so you have a shot at doubling your winnings during the regular season.
