Oh I understand that different people can have different views. And I know that when two opposing political parties have opposing views it can get nasty. So I'm not in the least bit surprised that the Republicans are prepared to send America into another depression just to stop Obama's health bill.

I can also understand that because of this America is running out of money so has had to close down a lot of stuff.

But what I cannot understand is this: Why, when a government is running out of cash and needs money fast, does it economise by closing the tax collection offices? That is the one thing you need, that is where the money comes from.

I mean, when you see a down and out person living on the street and offer them a dollar, what would you think if he said "Sorry, I'm broke, so I can't afford to take that dollar"?

But that is what Uncle Sam is doing isn't he? He is saying that he is too short of money to allow the good people of America to pay their taxes - taxes he need to pay the bills!

Have you guys all been smoking your excess |potleaf| and made this decision while stoned?

Shit, I thought our politicians were assholes, but they are geniuses compared with your lot!

If what you are saying is true then the whole situation is about something other than what the public is being told. That's my guess.

The Tea Party needs to be exiled from the USA although I'm not sure what country we hate enough to do that to them.

As a Canadian (and who asked me), I think America is really two countries and doesn't know it. There are a rational bunch of Americans much like the rest of the western world and then there are the Tea Bagger Americans.

Tea Baggers like to police the world but hate government (and taxes). Their rallying call is freedom except when it has to do with abortion, free speech of others, personal drug use. This is the same group that generations ago used to hate civil rights (and still does), own slaves and support prohibition. Until October 1st, America was the only major Western country not to ensure that people got medical insurance. They hate that but want tax dollars used to build sports stadiums. Oh yeah, they want Jesus for everyone -- whether you like it or not! Thankfully, this group is still a minority as vocal as they are.

I think that the IRS (tax people) are still working & getting paid during all this nonsense.

Exactly, "COLLECTING" taxes is still a essential service and will still continue fully funded...Only people fighting to reduce their tax bill is considered non-essential and thus not needed and not funded

Its really more or less one group except you have two factions. One who is really rich and can live their dream of anally fucking the group who is too poor to anally fuck anyone.

The group with the serious money? The 1%'s for the most part do not care about much of the "rights and emotions" issues. They care about making money, at any cost, to you that they can get away with.

They are a minority in number but they hold the checkbooks of our collectively elected asshats.
