APIC closed down...
... news from the other board
I sounds like Steve Easton didn't make enough money from his cases. And I just binned in July or August a long email from him where he explained to me (over 2 years ago) how he would make TGP sites disappear because they were/are encouraging breach of copyright... Should have kept the email for the memorable value - LOL! Just in case you still have the button up he forced upon you some 2 years ago: you can take it down! The website is dead, too! But there is a new APIC site, though I don't recommend linking to that one... May Steve Easton survive all the threads people made and rest in |peace
George,
may we ask you to announce us when Acacia is going down? |lightsabe |
I allways use legal content but I hated that prick
I hope next week Steve easton is loading trucks or digging ditches |
now who's going to protect all the copyrighted content? Any takers? |ufo|

I always thought the idea of APIC was good. But Steve Easton is one person I would never want to represent me. I can't count the number of things he did wrong since the beginning of his long stay.
He started out sending email to everyone claiming they were stealing content. I had a friend that tried to support Easton in the beginning by putting the APIC logo on his site. Steve Easton then accused him of stealing it and called him a camel jockey. And something a little more personal...When I left Ultracash with the rights to all the content, Easton wrote to me calling me a thief. I tried to call him to explain what had happened and show him the documentation but he would not take my calls. He then wrote to all members of APIC calling me a thief. You should have seen his face when I finally met him face to face :) All in all, if he is gone, good riddance. |
Wow... it's really getting to be a game of "last man standing" in the biz lately.
So I guess when we ask "who's gonna be at Internext in January?" - that's really a BIG question this time around! We should have a SURVIVOR party for those who make it through 2003. |couch

Regarding APIC now... did anyone here use it? How was it for you? And like paul asked... are there any takers for this position in the business? Or do you think Digital Rights Management systems will take care of it in the near future? Take care, Bruno |
