I've Got A Problem With A Lot Of Your Free Site Descriptions!
|angry|I've been noticing for a couple weeks now that a lot of you do this, which |loony|'s and |crazy|'s me! |club|
Here's an example of a description I'd get with a submit: Sexy BBW Girlfriend Gets Off For Her Boyfriend's Camera Ummm.... |waves| Where's the "A"? |huh Meaning, shouldn't it be: A Sexy BBW Girlfriend Gets Off For Her Boyfriend's Camera |huh What's |huh Up |huh With |huh That? |huh |
Hmmm... I actually see nothing wrong with not putting an A in front of that sentence.
But I did learn to speak in the NorthEast and was educated in the South. :-/ |
You right.
|
Also, what's with the lack of ''s?? :D
I mean apostrophes, like in a girl's name. I see a lot of this: Beckys boyfriend sent in these pics of her naked Why is it not: Becky's boyfriend sent in these pics of her naked |huh |huh |huh |huh |huh |

Yeah a lot of scripts, not mine, don't allow apostrophes.
|
1. The A/An thingy: Well fuck me running! It's not that it doesn't sound right, it's just that it sounds better, to me anyway, when the sentence starts with A/An in these cases.
B. The ''s thingy: While that does make sense for scripts that don't like apostrophes, my script LOVES them! So, if you're a submitter to any of my LL's & you're reading this, PLEASE use them |shake| |
A Greenguy started a thread about A's and ''s :)
The Greenguy started a thread about A's and ''s Greenguy started a thread about A's and ''s What? Who what that? |
Just to stir things: I often leave out the apostrophe for search engines eg:
"A naked teenage girl's tits" "A naked teenage girls tits" In the latter SEs see teenage girls as plural and people rarely search for "naked teenage girl", they look for "naked teenage girls". |
Now, I know why to reject gallery descriptions like:
Girl sucks and fucks Submitters never understood what's wrong with it. Now, I can tell them the "A" is missing :-) |
Makes sense to me.
Oops, I meant to say It makes sense to me. |thumb |
I never had problems with apostrophes, the "A" issue is slightly worse. In any case, it's interesting to know, that my speech has Southern attributes. |pimpin

Proper American English wants to put the articles in there so that it is a complete sentence AND makes sense. But, how many people really do speak proper American English? The Brits and Aussies have their own way of mangling the language. THEN we have this other entire group of people who have learned a form of the Queen's English as a second language. They use a hybrid of their own native capitalization and structure. It totally drives me crazy, but then... I have revenge. My Finnish drives them crazier.
If it makes sense, why stress over it? It isn't a reflection of my work - it is the freesite/gallery publisher. I know, it isn't always pretty but, in some ways these odd descriptions stand out and that may well be what they want. The "newspeak" styles are more like headlines. If all the descriptions were perfect, it would be pretty danged boring. I used to change them all the time. Now, I leave them. Some of these guys are getting them right from the sponsors that way too. (My west coast ear wants to say THE sexy BBW girlfriend and not A sexy BBW girlfriend) If you want some fun, come to a country that doesn't have articles like A and The. Finnish has one word for He, She, and It. It is hysterical to me to be reading an article written in English (and not translated) that refers to a guy as a she or a woman as an it. Him and Her also get totally mixed up. I see it all the time from our national media. |
