Happy Hiatus Monday - Only 5 Days Left!

I know a lot of you are following the countdown...ONLY 5 DAYS LEFT!! |bananna|

I guess I should explain my absence, seeing as the last time I was here was Friday. Saturday was going to be a 1/2 day anyway, but then we had a small family emergency (my girls & I are fine) so that cut my 1/2 day in 1/2. I took pretty much all of yesterday off from the work thing, taking care of all my Fantasy Football & Hockey crap, then helping The Bitch with some crap around the house, then my niece & her Dad* came by for dinner. There was also a lot of GTA V with The Bitch :D

* My niece's Dad is not the sharpest knife in the drawer (he's more like that special butter spreader thing that comes with fancy silverware sets) He asked me to fax some papers for him. I told him where the fax machine was, and he sorta just stood there. I asked if he knew how to fax something & he replied that he wasn't sure. I told him it was VERY simple: Place the papers face down in the top, dial the number, hit send. Off he goes, taking my niece down to my old office with him. She comes back up about 5 min later & says that he needs help, because the fax machine started to print on his papers. Very confused, I got up & went down to see what's what. Apparently, my fax machine was out of paper & had some |spam| stored in memory. This genius put his papers in the blank paper feeder...FACE UP! He dialed & hit Start, which started to print out the stored documents.

I had to think back to the 1st time I used a fax machine, and I'm pretty sure it was 1989. He's not young - I think he may be over 50. Please explain to me how someone could have gone the last 25 years & NEVER used a fax machine?!

Today is another scheduled Hiatus Monday for me, so unless my Dr feels generous & fills my scripts today, I'll be on the couch for the rest of the day |fonz|

No family emergencies here, but wound up taking about half the weekend off anyway. Looking forward to taking a whole weekend again someday.

That reminds me of the story about the lady who faxed something and then later called to ask the recipient to fax the papers back to her...because it was her only copy. |crazy|

Some errands to run this morning then I'll be here working the rest of the day.

And yes, I'm counting down too, but definitely not for that. :D

We have an Epson printer/scanner/fax. Oddly we don't seem to be able to use its fax function though. Might having something to do with not having a land line. :D

Trying to find a muscle in my body that isn't sore. Hadn't washed my car for about six months and yesterday I spent around three hours really cleaning it. It's still a 15 year old car, but a very shinny one.

Didn't work all weekend so lots of catching up to do today and then when Christy comes home we are supposed to do some house cleaning.

And in other news... For all those that have been to the convention at the Westin Diplomat and wondered what would happen if someone jumped onto all the glass, someone did jump over this weekend. SPAT!

Good morning. Usual day here planned.

Wife and daughter are in Kingston today to visit an old penitentiary/prison, odd I know lol. It's a tour and whatnot so they went without another mother/daughter combo to make a day out of it.

You still use fax machines in the US? How quaint! Ooooo, do tell me you also still use photocopiers and manual typewriters too!!

(Sorry, but it is rare I find someone less on the cutting edge of technology than me!)

Did some demolition today, that in combination with a night without much sleep because son #1 passed his germs to son #2 makes that I'm pretty exhausted now.

A bit of online stuff, a bit of TV and then it will be off to bed I guess.
