Feb 20 is Day 1 of "Yay America, Boo Canada" Olympic Ice Hockey!

Morning! http://www.link-o-rama.com/greenguy/...emorialguy.gif

That's right boys & girls! In just about 3 hours, the US Women's Ice Hockey team will take on our frenemies from the North (aka Canadia*) for the Gold Medal |hockey|

And, in just about 27 hours, it'll be the US Men taking on the country that invented the game in the semifinals of the Men's Ice Hockey Olympics |usa

So, who's gonna tune in to NBC & watch the games with me? |deadhorse

Other than that, I'm just waiting for my doctor to call with a couple scripts, because I left my 11:00 AM appt yesterday after I was told at check-in that he was 90 minutes behind - didn't he know the US Men were playing hockey at Noon? |angry|

Have a good one! |fonz|

* If Americans are from America, then Canadians must be from Canadia, right?

No spectator sports here, but I did go for a lovely bike ride yesterday.

Making carrot crackers this morning and then lots of work to do before more Illustrator lesson. Hoping to find time to watch another episode or two of House of Cards this evening.

@Greenie I think he was in his office watching the game!

As for the women's game today, this is all I have to say ...

Finally got my new used computer working to my liking late last evening but today is a busy day so I don't know if I will be online much.

I've got the dentist, a haircut, driving my daughter to her therapist |loony| and of course the Olympics (which I will be watching on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation channel).

Have a great day whatever you do! |thumb

Good morning!

Yes I will be watching the game live in cbcsports.ca while working, somewhat lol, in the office today. |canada|

Good Day :)
Just a bunch of work here and some Olympics to watch.

Good morning world |waves|

Up early getting lots done until I tuned Starz to State and Main (IMDb) which I intended to have on in the background since I'd seen it many other times. But I kept laughing too much. Some excellent dialogue, and I like how Mamet handles that. Some don't like his work, but I'm a fan.

So now I'll work a little longer to make up for that, but it was worth it for the good laughs.

Wishing a good day to all.

:)

I think it is cheating to live in a country where you almost always have snow and ice somewhere. Anyone can win if they spend a lot of time practising.

Our skeleton bob gold medal winner used to practise on a tin tray on a grassy hill and the only serious practise track we have was for the start (IE you can practise starting right, but not sliding down the track as you have to stop immediately after starting). Now that makes winning gold a real achievement!

Exactly :)

Same with the US and basketball. They have street kids playing on playgrounds from the time they are 5 so they dominate in that game. Canada has kids playing pond hockey 6-7 months of the year from the age of 5. Even I played hockey from the time I was 5 years old until I turned 15 when I switched to basketball since I was tall and lanky and good at it lol. Even went on to play a few years of college ball in Canada.

Then, why wasn't Russia in the medal round? lol Your argument makes no sense.

Anyway Canada 3, Sweden 0. GOLD FOR CANADA! :D

Kudos to our women's team for coming back late in their game against the USA and also winning gold, their 4th in a row I believe.

Russians are cheats too, they are just not very good a cheating.

|couch| I guess it is because they spend most of their practise time beating up gay guys!
