New Affiliate Program Wish List?
 

I am about to restart my affiliate program, I had one years ago but it's been so long that the business has changed a great deal. Seems like it's all about social networking and tube sites and I'm having a hard time getting past the membership threshold I've reached with my own efforts, which have been minimal due to time constraints. So I'm going to need some help and want to get a good affiliate program going so people would want to promote my work.

All of my content is videos, I don't really do photos, so as an affiliate what would you wish to enable you to promote a mostly single girl site the best? Explicit trailers? HD previews? A (very) occasional full clip? Easier to download clips? Video stills? Wmv, mov, etc?

I imagine you guys would like renewals too so I'm considering that since I know the biz has been suffering and I'd like to do that to encourage more to join and keep promoting.

Any other fair wishlist items for the ideal affiliate program?

I tend to look for hosted galleries (both movie and still pictures) and the icing on the cake would be hosted thumbnails for the galleries too.

However the most important thing is sales: Will your site convert the traffic we send it into sales? And if the site you are talking about is the one in your sig (Vile Habit Video) I would not sign up as an affiliate as it does not look like it would grab customers (NB "look like", you may be making a fortune and converting 99% of your traffic, but affiliates do not have access to your accounts so will go by a "gut feeling" when looking at your front page/tour).

Also: Too many of your own commercial leaks. Unless your store, clips store and private shows also offer payment to affiliates, an affiliate is going to look at your site and think "Shit, I only get paid for a quarter of the sales I make for them". Add on to that the other leaks (links page, links on "wishlist", blog, Twitter, YouTube, etc) and an affiliate would expect to loose 80% to 90% of the traffic they send you. No sane webmaster will be interested in that. You really need a separate tour for affiliates without these traffic "turn offs".

To add to what Ecchi wrote (he is 100% correct) and from what I can see from my customers setups, nowadays, affiliates need:

1- Tube videos (provide with xml, feed + video text dump as well)
2- FHG's are still used. (provide with text dump pas well)
3- Banners
4- Zip files

But you need to have a profesional designed tour or affiliates won't signup with you.
