Happy Ash Wednesday & Welcome To Lent!

Morning! |buddy|

Who's coming to Mass with me this morning? Gotta get me some soot |thumb

For Lent this year, I'm giving up giving up things for Lent :D

Working now, but I do have an appointment with me pee pee doctor this morning. After that, more work I guess.

|buddy| Be With You! |fonz|

Over the years a lot of things that I've lent to people never got returned.

Are there Americans actually this uneducated?

According to a recent study reported on by the LA Times, 11% of Americans thought HTML was a sexually-transmitted disease. The study, by coupon site VoucherCloud, involved 2,392 men and women 18 years of age or older. 27% thought 'gigabyte' was a South American insect, and 23% thought MP3 was a Star Wars robot. The participants were not told that the study was specifically looking into their knowledge of tech terms. They were presented with both tech and non-tech terms and were asked to choose from three possible definitions. 18% identified 'Blu-ray' as a marine animal, and 15% thought 'software' was comfortable clothing."
Another beautiful day on this big sandbar. My bicycle is calling me, but first I'll have to get all my work done and do another Illustrator lesson.

We're not -- no longer -- Christian but my wife always makes pancakes on Shove Tuesday. They were yummy!

Same old here. I thought I was suffering from a bit of burnout or lack of motivation but I've convinced myself now that it was/is a needed rest. Yeah, yeah, a rest -- that's the ticket! (What, no Jon Lovitz emoticon?) So, it's early and that means a chance to get some real work done today.

Have a good one! |thumb

Good morning world |waves|

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood, but my plans were to stay inside and work all day. Lots to get done, but now that this thread reminded me, I may take some time to get out and see how many people are wearing the sign of the beast on their face today.

Wishing everyone a day with nothing but clean faces...and if you think I'll burn in hell you're welcome to |pray| for me.

Sure, why not ... though you may want to consider that a sticker won't draw flies or start to rot on your head.

But if you just prefer real fruit, you can always make a real Carmen Miranda style hat for yourself.

Although even for an atheist, that's going a bit far.

Good Day :)

No ashes here since I am a recovering Catholic.

Just working all day and that's about it.

Last time I had ashes on my forehead I was cleaning a furnace up north

Yeah but they got to come to England to shoot me. And if the air marshals don't take their guns away on the 'plane, then our airport security will arrest them on landing for carrying a gun (illegal over here), take their guns away from them, then deport them back to the USA!

I can remember when a British motoring TV show did a special from the USA. When driving through your end of the country they thought it funny to paint slogans on each other's cars that would be offensive down there, to embarrass the drivers. These included political slogans (I think it was pro democrat, anti republican, but I may be mis-remembering) and pro gay sex messages. They drove into one gas station and the staff were so incensed that they picked up armfuls of rocks and tried to stone the cast and crew to death!

CandyApple 2014-03-06 05:41 AM

Anyway, got a bit lost there....A colleague came up with a great idea yesterday, that we should give up work for lent! :) We were going to post it on FB yesterday and tag our bosses in it. Decided it wouldn't be the best idea so gave up chocolate again, its a cliche I know, but it's the hardest thing for me to give up!

I live in East Fort Lauderdale, next to the beach. It's a very liberal, friendly neighborhood with a large gay population. No one cares what color your skin is or who you sleep with. It's a very friendly and safe neighborhood, other than a lot of breaking and entering thefts by people from outside of our neighborhood.

But if you drive over to the West side of town, through the dangerous hood, you end up in the old redneck part of town and find this. Neighbor confronts man flying KKK flag in yard :(
