Exhausted From Ash or Chiquita Banana Wednesday? Why Not Take A Hiatus Thursday?

Morning! |waves|

Actually, neither of those things, nor anything else I did yesterday, caused me to be exhausted, but I think I'm due for a nice day on the couch watching TV while I doze in & out of consciousness |fonz|

Good morning.

I've got a mainstream client meeting downtown this afternoon followed much later by a meeting for some charity work I said I would do since driving uptown and back downtown makes no sense in Toronto traffic. That means sitting in a coffee shop for a couple of hours between meetings. So this morning is time on the ellipitcal, driving my daughter to school and whatever else I can manage to do. I am not happy on how this day is shaping up. |angry| Yes, I'm cranky.

So, have a good one, you pornographer, you! |thumb

Oh good, I can take this stupid fruit off of my head.

Yesterday my niece drove down so that I could take her to the airport in her car and then pick her up in a week. She is giving me what it would have cost her in long term parking at the airport for doing this. She was an athlete in highschool but really blew up once she had kids. Last year she had gastric bypass surgery so I expected a much thinner niece, but she is now twice the size she was and almost couldn't fit through the doors in our house. The surgery is giving her all kinds of health issues on top of being way over weight.

I see blue sky this morning. Hopefully it will stay nice today for an afternoon bike ride as I continue to loose weight using my FitBit app which is the only thing that has ever worked for me so far.

When gastric bypass surgery was first available I remember someone saying that you could still eat high caloric liquid foods (alcohol, ice cream, etc.) in volume. It made me think that if you're damned and determined you'll gain the weight back. Food really is a state of mind. [I am not saying this form a "holier than thou" pov but as someone who has needed to lose 30lbs for many years.]

I've been trying to loose the same thirty pounds now for the past five years or so. Everytime I would drop a few pounds I would gain it right back.

In January I started using the FitBit app, also available for Android. My iPhone 5s has a motion chip in it so I don't need to buy an external device, just keep my phone on me.

So far I've lost 7 pounds and seem to be keeping it off, dropping about a 1/2 pound a week.

Being able to see how many calories I'm burning throughout the day verses how many I've consumed is really working for me. I'm shocked at how many calories are in each meal. So now I eat a lot less for breakfast and lunch since I don't want to be staving and not able to eat more in the day. Also, when I see I'm getting close to my allowed calories for the day it motivates me to exercise so that I can eat another meal.

Sounds like you're making some head way! I just downloaded the app and will take a look at it today. Thank you.

It's telling me I have to buy a gadget to use it. I love gadgets! [Shut up and take my money!]

Yeah if your phone doesn't have a motion sense built-in you need to buy sensor to track your movement. We are going to buy the FitBit scale so that we can also track our weights without having to manually enter stuff in.

Not using an app like this and trying to loose weight is like trying to do the speed limit without a speedometer in your car.

Good Day :)

Bunch of work to do and maybe trying to put my new office more together. Yesterday I got in the TV & stand, cable box, vhs/dvd player (I got this years ago to move tape onto dvd of which I still have not done). I even watched a vhs tape (not porn) yesterday to make sure the machine is still working. It was an old motocross video.

This is what happened to my mother-in-law. She had to loose 30 lbs on her own before they would do it. She did that so they went ahead with the surgery. She lost another 50lbs over a year and then it all started to come back slowly. 2 yrs later she is now bigger than she ever was and all the health problems that went away are back as well.

Didn't know they made a scale too. Neat |bigsanta|

Since I took a Hiatus Sunday, a Hiatus Monday, a Hiatus Tuesday, and half a Hiatus Wednesday, I'm guessing I should really be getting back to work now, before the bills start to flood in and the bailiffs follow them!
