Did everyone die and no one invite me to the funeral?

At the start of the month I noticed that no one had started a "thread of the day" in over a week. Today I again started a "thread of the day" because again no one had started one in over a week. Since the one I started on the first of the month to be exact!

I also notice that in this forum, over half the threads posted in the last month were started by me!

I am just about the least sociable person I know, the least likely to start threads on a "Chit Chat" board, so when I am the main thread starter you know something is wrong.

On top of that - I have seen threads with no replies show 30-40 views, so I know we get about 30-40 replies. But when someone does start a thread of the day, does it get 30-40 replies? No. Most "thread of the day" threads get one to three replies, that is two to four in total, including the original post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus, few people post threads other than "thread of the day"! Back awhile people often posted things like; their point of view - things they found funny - rants about stuff - etc. Nowadays people can rarely be arsed!!

In other words, stop fucking lurking, and start fucking posting!

G ain't dead, he is sick. And when he gets well again, how do you think he is gonna feel when he comes back and finds that while he was away we all killed his board?

We just need more cat pics posted.

Look at it this way:
You're not the least sociable person you know anymore. :)

Yea the board has been slow but I still come every couple of days to see what you guys are up to. It's good to know what your online friends are doing even if they don't post every day :)

I have been dead for several years.

I most often have nothing to say, nothing to add to a conversation. I have been out of the loop for too long. I almost started a thread the other day about possibly giving everything up and walking away from the business.

I'm having more and more days like that in recent times as well.

But then I remind myself what an opinionated mouthpiece I am and I'm good to go. |jackinthe

To be honest, I had rarely started any posts until G got sick.

I do some now because he has graciously let me crash at his house a few times and we have a couple of shared projects that really did not pan out as we hoped.

I come by everyday to see if anything is up but lately I have felt a bit like UW. Probably will never really get rid of my stuff, at least not all of it, as I will probably look into taking some part time work at my old company and others like it to offset lost income.

During this time I am spending a portion of it working on this 70 yr old pos house. Why pay someone 40 to 80 bucks an hour when I can do it. Only problem is it takes much longer as issues with my back have flared up.

Guess I should post more as Greenie is slowly getting better.

Your back can't take the weight of your massive beard. :D

This probably isn't an original thought, but I sometimes wonder if Facebook is as much to blame for the slow demise of webmaster boards as the decrease in sales. The boards use to be our only form of social networking. FB has taken that role.

I feel the same way. I'm not paying someone $500/day to paint walls lol. I usually do a lot of things myself but thankfully since we sold our house our life is MUCH better. Getting rid of that fucking money pit was the best thing we did, only wish I listened to my wife and did it sooner.

We were just having a conversation about this with friends. Depending on where you live (there are only a handful of places I would buy a house) it is much easier to just rent and put the extra money that would go for property taxes, insurance, home repairs, etc into the stock market which you can move with a 15 minute phone call. Fortunately for us home prices are going up again so it makes sense to stay.
