Wasting Traffic - AEBN

(WARNING Angry rant at incompetent sponsor ahead!)

When I send traffic to a sponsor I expect them to at least try to convert it. I just tried to log in to AEBN and found their site "does not work" in Windows XP/IE8. Over 30% of surfers still use XP/IE8 so if their surfer's pages are going the same way then about a third of the traffic you send them will be wasted. Think about that. If you make $30 from AEBN, then you would have made $40 if you had sent the hits elsewhere!

Forget "if". After posting I remembered that I found their search box was not working the other day. At the time I assumed it was just a temporary fault but I just went back and tested it. It does not work on XP/IE8 but it does on newer set ups. In other words, if you are using the search box to get traffic, you WILL BE LOOSING about a quarter of your earnings from AEBN. Think about that. Would you use a sponsor who you knew was shaving a quarter of your earnings? Well although this is not deliberate theft (it is just basic incompetence) the result to you is the same!

Jesus wept, their premium hosted galleries don't work on IE8/XP either. How fucking shit are they?

I'll hit someone up over there & see if they can comment.

Ecchi, I tested the logged IN pages on XP and Windows 7 and it seems to be working just fine. (could you please give me the exact URL's of the pages that 'do not work')

Same goes for the search box:

and the Premium Gallery:
http://premiumgalleries.aebn.net/gal...323/clip/16954

I will open a ticket so we can test out the Site, Search Box and Premium Galleries from a PC equipped with XP/IE8.

Please contact me directly StephaneM(AT)aebn.net so I can take a look at your account and see if the issue had a negative impact on your sales.

Thanks!

I just looked at LOR's stats:
Browser: 29% use IE, but only 7% of those use IE8 or older (so only about 2.3% of all LOR's surfers)
OS: 58% use Windows, but only 10% of those are on XP (so only about 5.6% of all LOR's surfers)

...and, Windows no longer offers support for XP: Support for Windows XP has ended, so the % of people using it is going to decline & keep declining as it breaks :)

Of course, individual results may vary |lol|

Is there any mp4 tube movies on AEBN?

I only saw flv :P

My quoted figures came from Google, some time last month. I'm assuming they were tracking "Google users"

I'll post screenshots from my computer (IE8 XP version 5.1 service pack 3) but it will be one per post as this thing only allows one picture per post.

First Login Page You can see that the login menu is absent from the top of the screen.

Accessing the search box from my site ( http://www.bondage-and-torture-blog.info/ - part way down the first column).

Just tried to get a screenshot for the premium gallery and that is working today. Perhaps it is not XP IE8 but a intermittent fault with your server. If so you can timecheck the above screenshots from the time of post, I accessed the pages in the screenshots about 2 minutes before the post time.

Sorry, just realised that the links are trimmed by the board, I'll try reposting with parse switched off.

Yeah, that will do a lot of good! A couple of years back (very approximately) I tried to set up with your tube tool thing. I got nothing but error messages. I contacted you, you replied to the effect of "Well it works for us, what set up are you using?" I told you and never heard back again.

At the time I only had XP IE7 (I think) and nothing more powerful. I assumed that was a "non compatibility with older systems" situation and just ignored it as I was not certain I wanted to use the tool anyway. Looks like it was a "shape of things to come" situation.

ecchi 2015-04-13 09:41 PM

Sorry, by "you" in my last post I meant "AEBN", not you personally. I cannot remember who I spoke to at your end.

ecchi 2015-04-13 09:44 PM

Me again. Just had a thought, I used the search box weeks ago and got the theatre up but with general films (probably new releases) and a message saying there was an error. I assumed the search was "broken" at your end and you were working on the script.

Just tried the search box again and got the theatre with "recommended movies" but no search results (same as a few weeks back), so it looks like an intermittent fault with your server rather than IE8/XP and I was just unlucky on XP, and lucky when I tried it on the Vista box.

Error message I got was:

Error Message An unexpected error has occurred and has been reported to the webmaster. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If the problem persists, please contact Customer Service

Sorry, one last theory before I go to bed (it has gone 3AM here). I have noticed that the pipe on your server can be a bit thin at peak times and free videos take a while to load. No problem with that - it encourages surfers to pay for the better service. However in my experience from when I was on an overloaded virtual server, it also slows the running of scripts and they time out, only sending what they created of a page at the point they timed out, which was usually mangled HTML. Looking at my first example of the search box result, that was the sort of result I was getting from CGI created pages when my server was too overloaded to handle scripts at peak times.
