Saturday The 2nd (aka Fuck The Kentucky Derby!)

From my Facebook post this morning:
Quote:

Do society a favor today: Do NOT watch ‪#‎TheKentuckyDerby‬ - 364 days a year, you could give 2 shits about horse racing. Rich people in fancy hats getting drunk & watching horses run around for 2 minutes. Wanna bet on a race? Go to the Buffalo Raceway or your local track, find a race form, pick the horse with the cutest or funniest or oddly coincidental name to an event in your life - or just close your eyes & point - then take $2 & go to the betting window. Just ignore the hype machine that is NBC Sports, because in the end, NO ONE CARES!

So anyway...Morning! |waves|

Watched The Gambler yesterday. Kinda slow & very boring for the 1st hour - don't think I'd recommend it.

I then fell asleep watching |hockey| as usual |pokefun||greenguy| But that's not gonna happen today!! The ONE playoff game is on at 12:30 PM (thanks to that fucking derby & tonight's $100 PPV |knockout|) So I'm gonna nap early & set the alarm for noon |thumb
(yes, I am kinda pathetic)

No spectator sports here.

Seems our heat wave is over and it's actually a bit chilly here this morning.

Not much going on. Just the usual day of work and errands planned.

In other news: The man with two penises.

Good Morning :)

Going to do more work today and then the wife and I are going to go spend the eve at D-land for dinner and to walk around taking in the sights. Thankfully neither one of us care about the fight thou there is the final round of supercross, which is also in Vegas, but I'll record that and watch it Sunday, Sunday, Sunday :D

Good morning.

No interested in the Kentucky Derby or men with 2 penises, hell not with 1 penis :D

Usual day or working, might see what friends are up to this afternoon since it is suppose to be really nice out. Maybe afternoon pints in a backyard somewhere I'm hoping/guessing.

Another day in paradise.

I'm converting my members area CMS to a responsive and updated design which is a swell fucking time. (Sense the sarcasm...)

I haven't been outside yet today, but it looks like the sun is shining behind my closed blinds.

Next on my agenda: food. |thumb

The empty apartment next to mine (the one that used to be a cannabis farm) was turned into an impromptu meat market yesterday. One of my neighbours had robbed a local supermarket and made off with a load of fresh meat. As the apartment had no tenant, and the idiot landlord had left it unlocked, it made it a "safe" place for him to use to fence the meat. All evening the doorbell was ringing as hard up local arrived to buy cheap dead animal.

|cheese|Yesterday was a culinary milestone for me too. I love cheese, and Cheddar is one of my favourite cheeses. But last night was the first time I tried "real" cheddar cheese. - Although Cheddar is sold all over the world, it was invented in Cheddar (hence the name) and originally made in the Cheddar Gorge in a cave called Wookey Hole. Last night I bought some cheddar cheese actually made in the original cheesery in Wookey Hole. It was good cheese.

I just realised. In Britain most channels show sports, of all kinds. And with several dedicated sports only channels, practically everything gets covered. "Off-course betting" is legal, and most parades of shops have at least one bookmaker ready to take bets on horses (or anything else). But we never get the Kentucky Derby over here. We have a TV station that broadcasts nothing but horse racing, and we have chain store bookmakers trying to get us to bet on anything that moves. But no one has thought to use the Kentucky Derby! Someone (or several someones) is/are missing a trick!
