Wednesday The 20th (aka My Dryer Vent Broke Again)

Morning! |waves|

As expected, Avengers: Age of Ultron was fucking AWESOME!!! Like I said, I've been geeking out on their movies for the last few months, so it was very cool to see where some of the plotlines went. I mean, who knew the scepter had the yellow Infinity Stone? And Romanoff falling for Banner only to have him go off the grid for her protection? There's more, but I'm sure I'm boring everyone...

...just like I do when I say that I fell asleep watching hockey last night |couch|

So anyway, just working now, checking the status of my Fed tax refund |banghead| and waiting for the almost-step-son-in-law to come over & refix my dryer vent.
...but the house did smell lovely for the 30 minutes before I noticed it broke again

No movies here, at least not the kind you have to leave the house for. No hockey in my house either and my house smells lovely. :D

Working this morning and then Christy is stopping by at noon to go through the two piles of crap from the guest room that are either getting tossed or donated. Once the piles of crap are gone I need to give the room a good cleaning and then take pics for AirBNB. I found a pile of old tarnished real silver eating utensils that I'm going to go sell for scrap silver.

In other news PamelaDoll shot a new movie and says that she is going to start paying attention to her website again. Editing the movie she gave me and then adding it to her members area this morning. It's been so long since the last update that I'm having trouble remember how I have everything setup. Hopefully she will continue to shoot content and get Visa processing back. If she does I'll start promoting her site again.

Other than that just going to go hang out with friends this evening.

Good Morning :)

Same old shit around here thou I did start watching, where we left off, Shameless (BBC version) because I got tired of waiting on my wife. I also started watching Salem, because I did not want the wife to get home and catch me watching Shameless :D

Lots of work, so better get to it.

Working, eating instant noodles, working some more.

Highlight of the day - found a nice onion relish at the Polish deli. Will probably go well with hotdogs.

There is an American re-make of Shameless???? I would have thought that impossible! (Although Shameless was a C4 production, not BBC.)

C4 is currently showing a cop show by the guy who created Shameless. Same sort of world, but shown from the police side. To be honest it is not very good. It does not have the bite of Shameless, but it is too "soapish" to be a good cop show. Most of the main characters are too two dimensional and "silly stereotype" as well. I can't see it lasting like shameless did.

Yes there is. I have not seen it but those I know have like it. I try pointing out the original but they get all confused by the accents.

Ya, it's not BBC but I believe (memory is crap) I originally saw the first season on BBC America (so I assumed it was BBC) and was disappointed they did not continue but was happy to find multiple seasons streaming on netflix. Only mid way thru season 5 of 12 (I think) that they have.

Surprised. I would have thought it too "downbeat" for American TV producers. "Life is shit, then you die" is not the sort of message I ever see on US TV shows.

I don't blame them. I'm from south England, and those northern accents confuse me too! :)

(My mother was actually a little afraid of the north, and I don't think I ever went further than the midlands while she was alive. Shame really, there are some nice places up there - although I'll kill you if you tell anyone I said that!)

As you know we have been in a great recession the last 8+ years except for those in the 1% so the "Life is shit, then you die" I believe rings true for many Americans now. Could be why the American version is entering season 6 according to the link Greenie provided.
