What do you look for

in a new sponsor? What does a sponsor need to have or offer in order to get your business?

sig turned off do to banner being too big

I've let you know that the banner in your sig is too big a few times now. The max size is 120x60.

As far as what I look for in a sponsor…
Do they have the niche I need.
Do they have an easy to use admin that loads fast. I hate CCBill's new admin so I usually avoid sponsors that don't have their own processor.
Good stats.
Good promotional material. I use a lot of odd size banners so I look for odd size banners. I'm loving the fact that ARS is now putting up their PSD files.

For me it's all about the site. Do I think it will sell. Promo material and their admin I could care less about. Also are they a known company and lastly but as important, what's the payout?

These days, as I have already signed-up to more sponsors I can ever promote 100%, I look for niche I haven't promoted yet or niche I need more sites to promote.

actually I just put that in there this morning and this is the first time I have been back so there is no way you have let me know anythign about anything.

personally for me its the tour. thats why i made thesponsortool. all the others i have seen are only about the spnosor program itself and not the acutal tour which is the only thing a surfer sees.

far too often i see webmasters thinking the exact opposite of the way they should... "how much is the payout" before "how will it convert" if it doesnt convert then it doesnt matter how much it pays out, yknow?

Great question.

I'll be rehashing what others stated, but:

First, I look at the entrance page and tour to see if it's OK. If it's crap it doesn't matter.

Good stats is a must have.

Hosted picture galleries and movie clip galleries. Daily rotating or at least random gallery options.

Picture of The Day or Picture of the Hour...basically stuff to offer the surfer so they come back often.

E-mail Newsletters WITH new hosted galleries including links WITH my link code is awesome!

Assigning speciifc reps (peeps) to me and sending an e-mail to let me know who to contact for anything.

Various Tour options.

NO CONSOLE options on everything.

Have a convenient way like a link+description list dump so I can copy and paste every hosted gallery you have.

Have GOOD content for the site you want us to sell.

Ability to offer different priced tours. $1, $4.95 /3 days (whatever).

Have a message board to support and communicate with us.

Pay us on time.

Have certain periods where you pay out a bit more.

Have quality back ends so the surfer feels good about plunkin' down their money.

Have an 'All Access" pass to all your sites.

How's that? :D

Will an extra $10 per sale do it for ya? |bananna|

[SmutGiant, a specific question was asked - this is not an opportunity for promotion - DD]

I like to pick a sponsor based on my needs...

I initially signed up for a heap... I was new... and most have turned out pretty well.... although a few not! LOL

Now if I find that I have some new SE terms coming into my sites I look for a sponsor to match those terms... when i find one, I ask around... see who has had some experience with that sponsor.

I also like to see a sponsor with an active forum... I think that makes them very accountable.
