Monday The 25th (aka Memorial Day)

Morning! |waves|

Sore & tired from helping my step-daughters start a vegetable garden in their backyard yesterday. Here's a panorama pic of the yard that I took when we got there:

The location of the garden is behind me. They do have a big backyard, but these panorama* pics just make everything seem so much bigger.
* Hmmm... panorama... Link O'Rama... Greenguy's Panorama! |escape|

In 180° news, I was able to watch the entire |hockey| game last night |thumb

No major plans for today. Emerald is still here visiting The Bitch. Sounds like a good day for some on demand movies :)

Good Morning :)

Thanks to all that have served!

Wife and I had a nice drive up the coast, top down of course, which is something we had not done for months. Always amazes me the cars parked on the street going through Malibu on Pacific Coast Highway. Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Bentley, etc... Some look like they had a weeks worth of dust on them. Then again it is where the rich and famous hang out.

Back to work so I can afford the gas to drive by the rich and famous.

Good morning and Happy Memorial Day to my US friends and those who served :)

Usual day for me here working since 7am. Have a new project I'm trying to finish which means I have about another 30 videos to watermark/encode so back to it I go.

Love that area and the drive is awesome along the coast!

I got some good quality aged steak last week that I have been working through. On top of that I've had hot dogs for lunch a couple of days and bacon for breakfast for the past three days. The result is that the fat tray on the grill was full. So I filled a few old plastic pots with birdseed, heated the fat and poured it over the birdseed to make bird cakes to put in the hedge. My contribution to "save wildlife" for the month!

Also bid for a pile of ladies lingerie, skirts, and crop tops on eBay. Gonna experiment with making costumes for my movie (the idea is a going to be a sort of "Mad Maxine" effect).

Just my usual day of work an errands planned for today.

Jeebus, not a dandelion in sight in that back yard. Awesome. Here in Winnipeg a city-wide ban on herbicide use was just initiated, and the little golden bastards are everywhere now.... parks, boulevards, choking the life out of peoples' yards, etc.

...but not mine.

You may have heard of Magnus, Robot Fighter? (old comic book series) Well, I am CD, Weed Fighter. I've gone at my yard with a vengeance using the home concoction of Vinegar, salt, and dish soap. In the right proportions it creates a highly effective but environmentally-friendly weed destroyer. (muhahaha)

I don't have too many weeds compared to others here, but they're dying already and will be gone in a day or two.

But yeah, back to what I was saying, your daughter's back yard looks great. It's not often I get to say that to someone without them taking it the wrong way. :D

So you don't approve of these beautiful flowers that are magically growing near the leach bed of my septic tank |mrhanky|

...and next time you need some homemade weed killer, just use a spray bottle full of gasoline |thumb

Is that purple loosestrife? No, can't be, it's not tall enough. No, in a yard that size, if it doesn't bother the property owner and it isn't a threat to neighboring properties I wouldn't have an issue with it. Looks a hell of a lot nicer than a yard chock full of dandelions and thistles.

Gasoline works great for between patio block sections, driveway lockstones, etc. As long as you don't mind the smell and your conscience doesn't bother you. Luckily my hatred of weeds trumps nearly everything. :D

Those look like grape hyacinths. If so, you leave them alone, they are one of my favourite flowers!

A weed is just a flower that you got for free! |peace| |flowers|
