Does Anyone Know if?

Anyone does not accept php galleries?

Given the nose dive by Tommy's we want to switch to php.

I'm going to be following this thread with interest because one of the reasons I gave up free sites and galleries was because I use Perl a lot and I got sick of the number of immature list owners who would not allow shtml pages. Which is stupid because it is possible to set your server to treat .html as .shtml (if you have a dedicated server), so saying no .shtml or no .php is like saying "I want the less honest webmasters to cheat me".

IMHO: If a TGP/link list says "no PHP" (or "no any type of script/cgi page") don't post to them, they are assholes!

Not realistic. Most want clean html pages understandably.
I saw one tgp that says leave the gallery alone for 3-4 month then you can do what you want. lol. My kind of site to avoid.

One issue I'm seeing here is that php or perl or any other script pages most often are combined with use of mysql or any other db. Let say php or mysql crashes at submitter end for let say one hour and at the same time my links scanner scans my database then all your script galleries or whatever will be removed automatically from my list because of your server glitch or reboot or whatever.
Despite that fact I have no problem listing those. :)

Makes my point with not using scripts. I'd rather you keep links than drop them. :)
Ps. Your submission set up at clitpass is awesome. Adding twitter and Delicious posts was a neat trick.

If a gallery/site ends ,php .pl .cgi or similar you know the webmaster is being open and honest about using scripts. If it ends ,html it may be a clean HTML page, or it may be a dishonest webmaster hiding the fact that he is using a script that will (for example) send any bot checks to the page you saw when you OKed it, so your script thinks everything is on the up and up, but "real" surfers get redirected directly to a sponsors join page, or worse, something illegal like a rape site, bestiality, child pornography etc.

In short, most webmasters are honest, but there are a few bastards out there, and they are not stupid enough to use a recognisable extension. Their evil cgi pages will be .html

Also: If you have a partners program and you don't allow cgi generated pages, it is fucking pointless having a "trusted partner" status if you still don't trust them!
