Monday September 7th (aka Labor Day)

Morning! |waves|

I still feel just fucking horrendous, but I couldn't got 3 days without updating, so now that I got that out of the way....

We did finish Narcos on Netflix yesterday, which got me thinking about shows/movies with subtitles. I've always hated the thought of "reading" a show/movie, but Narcos changed me on that. So, I decided to watch the Swedish version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo on Amazon Prime - and I wasn't completely annoyed by it! Well, I was kinda annoyed by how the American version differed from the Swedish version, but that's another story. Started to watch The Girl That Played With Fire, and so far, so good |thumb

OK - enough of this computer crap...

Good Day :)

Well we watched another 3 movies (Sunset Strip, Nebraska, The Butler) and only 4 episodes of Californication because my wife started getting a migraine and went to bed so I worked a bit longer while watching some Alien shows.

We have another heat wave moving in so washed the cars first thing this morning as they had a big layer of dust on them. With the drought I try to delay washing them as long as possible.

Wife actually has today off of work so I see a few more movies to watch this afternoon :D

What made Narcos watchable for me was that it wasn't all subtitles. But I still found them annoying. Funny that my Spanish speaking friends said that they still found themselves reading the subtitles. Lilyhammer is another Netflix show with some English and some subtitles that I enjoyed.

Nothing fun going on today so planning on just working and maybe hitting the gym on this storming once again day.

I watch so many subtitled movies that it becomes second nature. Some time back I turned away from the TV to stir something on the cooker and was surprised for a moment that I could not still understand what was happening on TV. I had forgotten that the film was in Spanish, and I had been "reading" it rather than listening to it!

Things that show you the sort of place I live in: I had a conversation with a neighbour a few minutes ago. When I told him that I work with computers he replied "Yeah, I used to do that. I used to steal server boards!"
