Saturday January 2nd (aka I Had To Double Check The Day Of The Week)

Morning! |waves|

It's not the holiday that threw me off as to what day it is, it's the lack of Thursday night football |lol|

Did some year end stuff yesterday, which was really easy since the last biz transaction was moving money from the line of credit to cover a bill, thus the balance is $0.00 |banghead|

Just updated & changed all the 2015's to 2016's in the meta tags on LOR. I think I'll take care of some Fantasy Hockey & Football stuff now...

I feel like I need a holiday to recover from the holidays.

A couple of my younger friends came over last night for beer, popcorn |potleaf| and a movie. After a very long time of not being able to get a group census of what to watch I finally just said we can watch whatever, but just pick something. For some reason, Amazon movies always look like crap on my big TV.

Not my first choice for the movie, but it was somewhat entertaining.

Probably just going to do a little bit of work before running some errands. I feel like I need a few more days to recover from the holidays so not getting back into full work mode and my usually stuff until Monday.

Looking for a great movie to laugh to? "What We Do In the Shadows" - a New Zealand film. Pretty damn funny.

Stop being a cheapskate & spend the extra $1 on the HD version! |couch|

My problem is with their audio. In order to actually hear what's going on, I have to have the TV volume on at least 80. By comparison, the cable box needs to be at 20-30, Tivo 40-50, and Netflix 50-60. I think their video is good, except when it has to buffer. When that happens, most times it just sits & spins & I end up closing the app & starting over. Netflix has this issue solved: it simply loads/streams the SD version until the HD version catches up |thumb

I've never gotten a movie on Amazon, but my friend loves to come over and use her account to rent a movie. She always pays for the HD version, but it always looks like crap compared to ones on my hard drive or even ones streaming from Netflix. I'm using a web browser like Safari or Chome to watch them.

Yeah, I get that all the time with Amazon TV. Really annoys me, particularly when watching on my friend's smart TV, because on a smart TV it won't let you drop down to SD, which my friend's lousy Internet connection could cope with - it insists on HD which the Internet is really too slow for, where my friend lives.

You don't have a Smart TV?!

You could tell your friend to invest in their Firestick - I think it's about the same price as Chromecast.

There is a smart TV in my guest room. I really hate the interface on it. My office and bedroom have a 3rd generation Apple TVs hooked up to them that I love, but only the very newest Apple TV has and Amazon app, but I can stream Amazon from my iPhone to them and it looks fine. But both those TVs are a lot smaller than my living room TV. My living room TV has a Mac mini connected to it and works with everything. But on that TV if I make the video full screen it doesn't loo all that great.
