AAAARGHHHH! The Republicans Are Here!

Bush & a lot of other geeky looking Republicans just landed at the Buffalo airport - I do love seeing the Republican's once every 4 years.

Quick, rush over there and go wave your miniature stars and stripes

Where are the terrorists when you need them?

Tape some batteries to your stomach and go try to shake hands with him. :D

It's nuts - nothing on the local radio & TV stations except Bush. They closed a shit load of major streets in the city & traffic backed up everywhere.

Nothing like giving the Republican's 6 hours of free press |banghead|

I had the same encounter with Bush Sr. when he came to Atlanta years ago, and I was trying to drive through there. No notice they just shut the interstate down. |angry|

I live across the bay from North Island (San Diego Navy Base) Bush landed there then got in a fighter jet and went to one of the aircraft carriers to announce that the war with Afghanistan was over. So there were lots of boaters out to watch Air Force One land, also lots of Harbor police, coast Guard And Navy Patrol Boats (lots of boats = lots of wakes = Pat bouncing). A couple suits with ear pieces came on my dock about an hour before he landed and hung out till well after he was gone, I tried to strike up a conversation with them but they weren’t to friendly.|sad|

Secret Service are never very friendly. My wife and I went to Vegas for the Millennium Barbara Streisand concert at the MGM. It just so happened that then President Bill Clinton was there as well to see the same concert. I was looking for something and saw 2 guys I thought worked at the hotel. When I walked up to them to ask them directions, they pulled their guns on me. And then the President walked by :)

That'll teach you going to a Barbara Streisand concert :D |escape|

Believe me Fonz, I did it for my wife. I had no interest in spending $10k on a room for 2 nights and 2 concert tickets. :)

Bush was in my state a day or two ago.

They had some real nice videos of the police doing the old kidney crush and chicken drop on a 110 pound college girl who had the unmitigated gall to protest on the local news. Nice video of another college girl crying and almost calling the police 'fuckers', she stopped at the last millisecond, then said "She wasn't doing anything, look what they did to her...".

I was surprised they ran anything critical of our executive administration on the local news at all, the fact that they did, when such a story would ordinarily be kept off the air, suggests that the scene was even worse than the news clips described.

I plan to protest his arrival in Topeka, KS (I would quite say Topeka is an olegarthy of the rich, but it's close. A large Christian Right movement. Home of Fred Phelps. You get the picture.)

Would you know if those files/videos can be located online?

The reports on NAFTA and the FTAA protests are terrifying the end of last year. Bush scrapped 8 billion to assist the police force. The money came from the Congress-approved cheque to help fund the Iraq war. But injustice never makes headlines anymore.

I tried looking for those video clips but no luck so far. The clips themselves were bylined Pittsburgh Pa, and I saw them on WTAJ Channel 10 on sunday night. No sign of them on the wtaj website, which is a pretty unattanded website.

I might have recorded it, I sometimes tape TV as I'm working, but I haven't found the clips yet.

I mean, you have to kind of take it for granted now that protestors are going to get the baton under Bush. The question is, has this become the standard now, and has right to assembly pretty much become a 20th century luxury?
