Jolly: Little Help!

Descending by TOOL off Fear Inoculum:

1 - Start at 7:30 mark: is he playing dual harmony by himself starting 20 seconds later?

2 - Start at 12:00 mark: is that not one of the coolest sounds you've ever heard 14 seconds later?

(yes, I know I could have asked him privately - hush up!)

Great musicians but I was bored listening to it. |couch|
Maybe I just need to do drugs again :D

I'm hearing that from a lot of people. There's 10 songs. 4 are whatever (the ones under 10 min lol). So I created a playlist with the other 6 & it's just repeating all day & night. I do love these 6 songs!

He absolutely does and I agree, there's so much to digest in this album.
There's so much going on I still hear things I "haven't heard before".
His guitarwork (and sounds) are outstanding :)
I also like the longer tunes.

Boring? Not even close.

Even with the drumming being intricate and I'm sure playing it as a musician would be entertaining, fun and difficult as he is a monster studied drummer, it was still boring to listen to.

I put it in with classical music, which I love and listen to in the car all the time, where some of it is just blah.

I've been really into track 4 for a while, now I'm really into track 6 (the one posted above). I think the reason why one single track starts to stand out is because there's so much to digest here, with only 4 instruments + vocals there should be a limit to what you could do, but that's not true.

So this is, in other words, an album that needs time and repeats.
I thought a 50 something dude was unable to fall so hard in love with something new, but I was wrong.
