Pick Your Colors Wisely

Hi All,
I was just reading the newsletter, and the pick your colours wisely piece. Yup I agree, but I am very colour matching challenged, lol :) Anyways, I find this site usefull for choosing colours -

http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html

And best of all the online basic version is free :)
Thought this might help :)

Nice color picker. Looks a lot like the one from Photoshop mixed with the one from GoLive.

Macs have a nice picker built in, but I like this Mac add-on picker in addition.

Yeah I see some pretty horrendous color combos doing reviews. I really wonder if some of the builders are color blind.

Only men are color blind. If you want to see how things look to them here is a page that does this.

Cleo
In doing research for the tip and trick, I was surprised to see that every article mentioned that there were a lot of people that are color blind. Some of them mentioned that up to 20% of all surfers are. So, we are to assume that 20% of all webmasters are as well. I agree with you...some sites colors are so bad, the only explanation is color blindness.

I've never seen this one... it's very good. :)

But it only seems to work in IE.

Good topic...

It IS important to choose colors wisely....but I have problem with picking colors that aren't 'web-friendly'...I always go for the off beat colors...I like my sites to look perty. ;)

I often wonder if/how that affects my marketing effectiveness....

Good tools guys...thanks!

Very useful links here!

What do you think about ‘web friendly/safe colors’?
When building websites you use all colors available or rather stick to the web friendly colors?
I guess browsers can display all colors, and the only problem could be the graphic card which may not display them properly..

Although I am not colorblind I may very well be... well... color limited |jester|
