Tuesday March 24th (aka 😷😷😷😷)

Morning! |sars|

I'm not even gonna start ranting about Trump because it's my own damn fault for taking a break from my Marvel marathon & watching the news conference |facepalm|

I am going to my chiro appt today & my mom asked me to bring some stuff up, so I'll drop that off after. Other than that, I'm staying in the house with The Bitch, probably curled up in the corner sucking my thumb.

Morning. |coffee

I came here yesterday and then forgot to post.

Trump's comments about relaxing or eliminating social distancing have me extremely worried. How is an economy supposed to function when you're dealing with a million or more people sick and dying? What a dumb fuck.

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I've got a couple of mainstream projects on the go. When I get bored of them I will switch to adult. First, I'll hop on the elliptical in my garage.

My wife and I weren't as strict with our isolation as we should have been when we first got back so we are now trying to do it. Having been on an airplane we were supposed to stay in 2 weeks. We were going out for groceries and such every couple of days instead of someone doing it for us. The last number of days we've been 100% at home (and can go out as of Friday). So far we are fine as are our partners on our trip. Hope all is well with you.

Have a good one! |thumb

Morning |coffee

Isolation day 2, just working all day as usual, nothing else to do |loony|

|trump| is a fucking moron, seriously. This guy looks out for 2 people, HIMSELF and HIS BUSINESS FRIENDS. If he cancels the isolation, it will only be because he doesn't want his friends's businesses to suffer any longer and he doesn't care if an extra 100,000 Americans die of coronavirus because of it, that's the sad part.

The one bright spot about that is each state's Governor can put stay in place or isolation orders into effect & Trump can't override them.

In Sweden we are preparing for an Easter of skiing and after parties ... we still mainly worry about cancelled hockey matches and strawberry harvests - LALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALA

...but then, im so antisocial a lockdown, if it was ever enacted, could happen without me noticing :)

Hopefully, the governors will do the right thing. What truly sickened me today was hearing about the older couple in Arizona who followed his suggestion and used fish tank cleaner (chloroquine phosphate) to try to ward off the virus. He died, she is in intensive care. I know the fool wants to believe there is a magic pill out there but there isn't. His lies have now killed. I realize he is the president and all, but how do you respect someone who talks out of his butt, spreading lies that harm?

The scary part is that if the fool says no more isolation, his lemmings will believe every word and no matter what is in effect in their area, they will feel they have his blessings to do as they please. On the bright side, if they are the only ones out and about, maybe they will just infect each other. The bad side - the virus has a very long life on surfaces.

Good Morning :)

Same as usual around here other than we got rain again.

Thankfully I went outside and did some more work on drainage issues. So much more to do but whatever, it's raining.

The news has had me so frustrated I have mostly stopped. Just listening to old rock albums and concerts that pop up on youtube. UFO, Rainbow, Scorpions, Deep Purple, MSG and bands like that from the 70's & 80's.

I do have the pleasure of venturing out to the grocery store so that should be....fun |banghead|

Enjoy your Corona Tuesday!

There are about 331,000,000 Americans.

If 40% get infected COVID-19 then that's 132,400,000 people.

If 1% of the infected die then that's 1,324,000 dead, but hey, Trump properties will be open for business.

Greenguy 2020-03-24 04:16 PM

My math has everyone infected in 4-6 weeks.

Hmmmmm.... I may well be out of reach of your math, especially if I refuse to out and chase it. It has to find me first. Hell, your math can't even spell where I live!

*Everyone in the US

BUT...

It has stopped doubling every 2 days:
Thursday, 6 p.m: 11,639 cases
Friday, 6 p.m: 17,757 cases
Saturday, 6 p.m: 22,782 cases
Sunday, 6 p.m: 31,289 cases
Monday, 6 p.m: 42,229 cases
Yesterday, 6 p.m: 52,381 cases
Today, 6 p.m: 64,202 cases

hincapie 2020-03-25 07:31 PM

Thats close to 9000 new on average - and the growth is accelerating.

But, the real interesting numbers are: hospitalized, intensive care numbers and dead (as infected is too fluffy a number, it depends on testing levels and many of those could be symptom-free)

This is nasty :(
