Morning. |coffee

Sounds like you're having a rough patch, Jolly. I hope you feel better soon.

I haven't made it out for the long walk like I said I would so I think I'll do that today. I downloaded a podcast of an interview with Seka from TheRialtoReport.com. I can listen to that as I walk.

Other than that, it's the same old. I've got a website to work on to keep my mind off the plague.

Have a good one. |thumb

Did someone say plague... It is getting worse here and moving closer and closer to my town. I think I'll go for a run in the woods tomorrow.

Morning! |sars|

Almost funkless...almost.

Got a call from my mom's nursing home yesterday: 3 patients have the coronavirus :( None of them were in her unit/section & my mom says she feels fine. I was dumbfounded at the time and forgot to even ask if my mom was tested |facepalm| so I just called up there & left a msg. I'm still a little bit stressed about it...

I called Yell this morning & told him I was gonna get drunk on his front lawn tomorrow. Last few times we were just hanging out & having some |cheers| at his place, he was on the porch* & I was sitting on a chair in the lawn, so we were inadvertently practicing social distancing |thumb
*It's a tiny porch & let's face it: Yell & I fitting anywhere at the same time...

|pray| I have to run & pick up some scripts today.

I thought I would post this.

Saw an interesting news segment earlier this week with the author of the course, Laurie Santos, a Professor at Yale University.

Its a FREE course developed to help people understand themselves better.

For example, Are you happier when you buy yourself a little something? Or when you buy someone else a little something? Like a latte or a cd or whatever.

The answer science revealed will surprise you.

It's so tough to keep the funk at bay. I feel like I need to be back in the US with my 93 year old mother, and yet, I know I am much safer here in Finland. She is also safe and very conscious of what she does, limiting her contact with others, so I am not worried about her health. It is just a very tough time, and she is much more alone than normal. Her favorite restaurants are all closed, and she does not cook at home anymore. People annoy me right now. They were asked to stay home and not gather for parties, etc. Did they listen? Nope. Now they are complaining because areas are being closed off, and it is being enforced. We could not go to Helsinki right now if we wanted to -- that entire area is on hard lockdown. You have to convince the police you have to be there or you get turned back or handed a ticket. 70% of the confirmed cases are in that area, and they are doing their best to keep it there. The Husband's aunt lives in that area, and wanted to go to their cabin in the next province. No go. She has to stay in Helsinki and that doesn't suit her. There are *things* they just have to do at their cabin. She and her husband are both in their upper 70's, and they both worked in the pharmaceutical industry. You would think these two would be the first to follow the guidelines, but nope. Stupid people... just plain stupid.

I have days I so want to go back to bed and pull the covers over my head but that would just be admitting defeat. I don't like to do that. So, I try hard to stay focused on simple things, things I *can* do like working. I don't get as much done daily as I want to but I do get something accomplished and that feels good. So maybe I don't get that dozen galleries built each day, but I get 2 or 3 or 6. I do get my network updated. Maybe it is only a handful of galleries each day, but I update daily.

The Husband and I pretty much social distance even during normal times. Nobody around here speaks English except him, and my Finnish sucks. Everything is closed right now anyway, not that we went very many places. It is beautiful, quiet, serene, and almost surreal at times. Today, we have that magic Finnish weather -- bright sunshine one minute, snow the next, clouds, sun, clouds, snow.. rinse, lather, repeat.

Sigh.. let me chase that nasty black dog out again. He is getting too damned close.

Good Morning :)

Nothing new around here as usual. It's just another day of biz stuff and other stuff.

Enjoy your Corona Friday!

Morning |waves|

Crap news about your Mom's nursing home, |pray| Up working all day but A) it doesn't feel like Friday, could of sworn it was Saturday lol and B) REALLY getting tired of not being able to leave the house. Our 14 day quarantine is up Sunday and I might do what Greenie and Yell are doing at a friend's back yard Sunday, might. Grab some chairs and sit 10 feet apart |cheers|

Oh yea, I drank my last 2 cans of beer last night and I can't get any until Sunday when I can leave the house again |cry|

Have you gotten an email from the US Embassy there? They are advising people here to go back to the US. Where its safer and we can get the drugs we normally do. Do they mean, "Farmacy" drugs? I'm confused. I wanted to reply and say, sure, pay for my tickets, housing and I need at least 3 guns with 5k in ammo. Go back...they must be cray cray.
Stay safe.
Had similar weather today. Overcast until 4 pm then sunny and cold.
