* IMPORTANT * NBA Internext Pool Round 2 Picks

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THE NBA POOL

The NBA has decided to schedule games for Round 2 before all the series in Round 1 are complete. This throws a monkey wrench into our NBA Internext Pool because we need picks for Round 2 before it starts. So, anyone with 4 or more correct picks as of right now will need to send in their picks for these Round 2 series by Sunday at 3:00 PM EDT:

Los Angeles vs San Antonio
New Jersey vs Detroit

The following people have 4 or more correct picks for Round 1:
adamneve
AdultLegal-Jim
Cash
dareutwo
donger
Dr Bizzaro
dunkin
EclectiXXX
esham
Extreme Nate
Fonz
gmoney
KatVixen
Linkster
MatrixFan
mikeyddddd
Ramster
Rictor
ritchie
srcharp
Tart
Thiago Dickman
TijuanaPat
Torn
Tuna
vicki
Yell

Your picks for those 2 games MUST be sent to me via the Private Message system by 3:0 PM EDT Sunday - NO EXCEPTIONS!

Some of these picks will be a "just incase" scenario - picking these 2 Round 2 series does NOT mean that you are officially in Round 2 - only those that have the most correct picks from Round 1 will be officially moved to Round 2 - but since we do not know who will be there before all the series in Round 1 are complete, everyone on the above list MUST submit picks for those 2 games.

Hopefully this post is clear, but if you have any question, please post them here :)

adamneve 2004-04-30 09:28 AM

well my picks are in, but i'm not sure i'll qulify for next round |shake|

Dr Bizzaro 2004-04-30 09:40 AM

Hmmm....
What happens if we pick all our games, then move on to round 2 only to see 2 of the teams I picked to win in round 2, get knocked out after round 1?

Are we able to change our picks after Round 1 ends?

Linkster 2004-04-30 10:00 AM

Dr B - I think that means you just have to send picks for the two series that are already decided for round 2?

Torn Rose 2004-04-30 10:03 AM

I Love This Game!

Dr Bizzaro 2004-04-30 10:24 AM

Personally I don't think I'm even in the running, but GMoney is. And if he wins, it saves me the $ for having to pay for his ass.

I just wanted to clairify before it was an issue.

Go NO! and Min.

Greenguy 2004-04-30 10:48 AM

DrB (and everyone else) - there's 4 series total for Round 2 - we know who's playing in 2 of them & at least one of those series will start BEFORE we know who the other 2 series will be.

Right now we know these series will happen:
Los Angeles vs San Antonio
New Jersey vs Detroit

The other 2 series - which you can not send it picks for yet - will be:
Indiana vs Miami OR New Orleans
Sacramento vs Minnesota OR Denver

Once the 1st Round winners are decided, I will of course ask for the other 2 series picks for Round 2 from those that make it into Round 2 - but I don;t want to have people picking the series winners AFTER the series has already started.

Believe me - the NBA is fucked when it comes to shit like this - this is the only way I can think of to make it fair for everyone :)

Greenguy 2004-04-30 10:50 AM

Oh yeah - one other thing to help clarify things - if you end up with 6 correct picks in Round 1 but needed 7 correct to move onto Round 2, these picks you're sending in by Sunday @3 mean NOTHING at all.

Only those that have the most correct picks from Round 1 will be included in Round 2 - but since we don't know who will be in Round 2, we need to get in picks for everyone that has a chance.

Ramster 2004-04-30 11:15 AM

Well I'm out. I don't need to pick because a few people have all the same picks as me except I had Dallas and they have Sacremento who won. :(

Good luck everyone!

Greenguy 2004-04-30 11:42 AM

Like Ramster, I'm sure there are people that have no chance of getting into Round 2, but it'd take me a week to figure out all the scenario's - LOL :)

Torn Rose 2004-04-30 12:16 PM

Yeah that is pretty lame on the NBA's part. Just read a “fact or fiction” article on ESPN and the question was

"NO and Miami have been playing since December and this is only game 5"

They really need to step this shit up, it will be 2 weeks this weekend since they started, My Pacers are growing old waiting and it looks like they have another week off.

Torn Rose 2004-04-30 12:23 PM

If I counted right, it comes down to the Miami and Nawlings....

If Miami wins 7 of us go to Round 2.

If Nawlings wins only 3 will go.

(Based on Minn winning, which I think will happen)|rasta|

Rictor 2004-04-30 01:17 PM

Hmm...5 correct for me so far...doesn't look to good.

Greenguy 2004-05-01 09:11 AM

The following people have 7 correct so far:
dareutwo
donger
EclectiXXX
Fonz
gmoney
KatVixen
Linkster
Tart
TijuanaPat
Torn
Yell

Some have Miami, some have New Orleans, which means that no one with 6 or less correct picks as of right now will make it to Round 2

I have picks for Round 2 from:
EclectiXXX
Fonz
gmoney
KatVixen
Linkster
Torn

I need picks for Round 2 from:

Tart
TijuanaPat
Yell

I only need picks for theses series for Round 2 at this time:
Los Angeles vs San Antonio
New Jersey vs Detroit

I'll know more on Monday as far as the other series for Round 2.

Greenguy 2004-05-01 12:01 PM

I jsut PM'd everyone that I still need picks from, so don't bitch if you don't get them into me ontime :)

Greenguy 2004-05-01 11:03 PM
