23 February, 2021, The Emperor's Birthday

National holiday. Spent yesterday day partying in one of our favorite towns. They've re-created 1890's Japan. With lots of pubs, food and cool shops. Hot girls are everywhere.

Today will be spent working, in honor of the Emperor, and enjoying Nepalese food.

Have a great 23rd. |banana|

Scary innit?

@Hincapie. My experience so far is that its like Indian food but richer, creamier. Probably not good for the blood sugar but it is really delicious.
Restaurants serve a choice of unlimited naan or rice. The naan are like 16-18 inches long. One will do ya.

Morning! |sars|

I've actually been up since 4AM but for some reason I never want to post that early & then I forget until well after I should've posted. My brain is |loony|

Just the normal workload today, along with my weekly chiro appt & run to drop off crap to the nursing home my mom is in. NYS announced that we can soon visit nursing home patients, so I'll have to read thru all the hoops I'd have to jump thru before I decide if I'm going to visit her anytime soon |couch|

Good Morning :)

Not much here going on here though the weather is nice. I should probably get out there and enjoy it but will probably watch tv and do biz work.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

Wifey keeps bugging me that we need to visit Japan, or ideally move there in her opinion, but maybe we should swing by Nepal on the way :)

Tuesday... is garbage day. My son managed to remember to take it out to the curb. So there's that.
Otherwise, been busy with Skype calls today.

That would be a great trip. Nepal and Japan. You should visit when quarantines are lifted for foreigners. If you like an orderly and clean living environment, food from all over the world and remarkably affordable housing outside big cities, it could be a fun move.

We're going to another place in a few days thats getting rave reviews. I will take some screenshots and send them to you.

Definitely want to go - for the visits anyway. Moving there sounds like a great adventure, but it would involve actually finding some work there & getting a workpermit which complicates matters.

I have seen some of the houses outside the cities - amazing looking ones for sale for next to nothing...but then, that likely isnt where the jobs are either

You are in luck actually. Japan's population is expected to halve by 2100. Workers, skilled and not skilled are desperately needed. Teach English, work for an international company. Rakuten for example, a kick ass global retailer does business in English.

Also, covid has provided for way more work at home jobs. The trend is rising. Office buildings are slowly emptying as companies are allowing people to work remotely.

Our town inside Tokyo is becoming popular so many new high rises are going up. because we are one of the last train stops in the city. And people are tired of cramped spaces and want to have more room to run.

Yes, "Kominka" old houses, are really ticking up in sales. I have friends who bought a compound, 3/4 of a US acre, walled in and huge house. It sounds great but Japan is new to insulation. These houses are drafty as fuck. I've seen a trend in facadism going on though. Leave the outside looking old and cool and build an inner house with all the mod cons. Still, they are so much more beautiful than the shipping containers passing for many modern houses here. Yuck.

We are looking to build a house on some land wife's family owns. There's not much "flipping" going on here except in downtown Tokyo. Houses are cheap, land is expensive. If anything, houses are like cars, move in and value starts dropping. However, many towns are offering same deals as Italy. Come to live and we will give you a house...
