I mean - I'm not that naive, I know that people will cheat whenever they get a chance but DAY-UM.... content today is SO affordable. If it had been priced like this when I was a newbie, I'd have a HUGE stash of content and would have built 100x more sites!

If you have the proof he is stealing images inform his host and SexKey. If he were stealing my images I would inform APIC and he would be gone.

John, did you ever get my ICQ about me using EP free content on AVS sites? I asked a while back and you said to send you the link when I was done with the sites.. I did and never heard back from so I'm wondering if it's still cool? I'm using only EP as the sponsor along with the images...

They were the best way to deal with these kind of people. Being a bulldog with a bad attitude is all the people understand.

The world is full of criminals and asshols. I just keep on adding them to my blacklist.

Did not have to use them much. The boards where some of the "Less than honest" webmasters congregate are very anti APIC and Steve the guy who ran it. They would always be coming up with stories of how he would harrass perfectly innocent sites. Rarely with any proof.

So the guy looking to steal would be looking to other sites to steal from. The main problem we had was people stealing TGP pages and just changing the link codes, an email from the original webmaster was usually ignored, one from me got a better response, one from APIC got the thieves page removed and the sponsor would cut off his money.

Forgot to mention the problems APIC are having at the moment are due to a guy who takes all his content from News Groups suing APIC for harrasment because they are trying to stop him from stealing.

Kind of like a thief suing a home owner for harrasment, because he caught him. Only in America. |angry|

Hi, nope I never received that ICQ, often happends when you share the same Icq number on 4-5 different systems. Im going to be out of town till Monday, but to answer your question, yes that is fine with us :) Ofcourse we thank you for following the rules unlike the pecker head up top who changed the images |knockout|

when i ran phoenixcontent and found theives (just about daily) i just emailed them, then if no reply/remove i emailed the host and sponsors...

I had one guy claim that noone could do anything about it - he was gonna steal and thats all there was to it. I contacted his host and the host gave the guy 48 hours to remove any unlicensed pics.

after 48 hrs the host wrote a script that went on the guys sites and deleted anything .jpg or .gif ... it was soooooo funny this guy had like 50 sites. i can just picture him going berserk ... i had a good time with that one.

rarely has a host not taken action when i gave them proof that the images were my property and that the offender was not holding a license to use them.

If this was always the case the Internet would be a much better place for all of us. Unfortunately it is not like this. It's a world where Adult Check had to be taken to court before they would do something about a webmaster flatbed scanning pictures and putting up a site with them.

ha ha ... im not lucky actually. my luck sucks. Im sure you get robbed blind too, they just grab shit off the tgps ... and you know you have to have a healthy balance between going after who you can and not spending too much time away from concentrating on sales.

but when a customer would tell me about unlicensed use (i deputized any customer who was willing, i invited them to send me links to suspect cheaters), i would drop everything and get medieval...

honestly i probably spent too much time going after theives. but im sure a lot of them got away with it. but im memory serves me correctly, there were only a handful of occasions that hosts did not take immediate action when i contacted them.

that one occasion though was particularly pleasing however, because the thief taunted me, and im a stubborn bastard. and within 2 weeks, he lost.

The other thing about having APIC was all the members loooking out for each other. You find them stealing one photographers work they will steal the lot.

mmm the guy is dutch, and i believe he lives about 15 minutes driving from me, it realy sucks, but i found out myself its hard to get these people of the net ,with a guy stealing content ,my own made banners, just copied the whole free site, i had to prove more then the one who did it, and btw he still stealing around galleries and all, i just couldnt get him of the net an this is dated oktober 2002.....blacklist will help alot....so i keep it with that, i follow most boards for the cheaters , when proven thiefs i blacklist them.
