Site Critique
 

Just wanted to get some advice on a site I have been working on. It will be a mixture of TGP, Link List and Community Forum for the gay community.

I know I still need some more galleries & links in the system which I am working on today. I would however like your advice on the rest of the site.

Also I am still stumped on how to trade links with other link list sites. Should it just be a perm link trade or should I get some sort of traffic trading script just to handle the perm link trades?

I think the site is very nice. The design is pleasing. The navigation simple to follow and the forum/community gives the users a chance to interact with you and one another which is always a plus.

I give it a thumbs up!

Thanks for looking at it. It's funny how when people see a gay site they justify their sexuality...hahahhaa. I am a married straight man as well. Just trying to make some cash :-)

Anyhow thanks again for the review, anyone else? I would like to get more especially on the link list, section and the trades.

Do I need to add my links (when I submit to another link list) to my link list or give them a hard link on the front page?

Hi Andy,
Love the look of the site, love the community concept, love the content your providing your surfers. Here is what I would change.
1)More and varied sponsors. I only saw one sponsor banner for I think amateurjerkoff. I would like to recommend badpuppy's puppycash program, they are a long standing company who pay out on time and are very fair. Also, my site http://www.Apollos-Temple.com has an affiliate program if your interested. It is processed through CCBill
2)Your BBS is empty. I know I know, it isn't all that easy to get a board running along. Try getting as many friends as possible to post various things over there to give the appearance of activity. Or, you can try the oldest trick in the book, create a bunch of fictitious member names and have long talks with yourself on the board. Not only does it make the site look active, it can also be therapudic(sp) heh heh
3)Your webmasters page isn't clear on the topic of recips, do you require recips? Or do you prefer clean galleries (no recips at all)
I would suggest since your just starting out that maybe you should require a reciprical link. I dont like them all that much, but they actually do get you some traffic.

On a personal note, and really has nothing to do with anything. For some reason PHP pages are notoriously slow on all of my machines, so I naturally have an adversion(sp) to them, but i know for others they load superfast and make everything come together nicely.

You are welcome but I think Spaz has offered you a much more constructive critique. I am new to building adult sites so couldn't offer more than just my perspective as a surfer.

Great advice, and thank you a ton. Keep in mind this site has not seen any traffic to it yet. We are still filling the galleries, link list and adding banners etc. Today is the day we are going through adding banners, links etc.

I have traffic ready to be sent to it, so hopefully the board will pick up. I will definitely figure something out for the board to get more stuff going there for activity.

I will definitely signup to those sites to see if I can send them any traffic. Randyblue and Amateur Jerkoff were the only banners because they are friends of mind so they were easy banners to get to get the site designed and looking descent :)

BTW, if you know where to get some good gay traffic I would be interested in that as well.

Oh I do see one small potential problem for your site Andy. I don't know if you are aware of this, but there is an established gay site with the name http://www.gayperv.com, they just added me as a trusted submitter a couple of days ago. Your sites name and URL only varies from theirs by one little letter......"s"

It is probably just an innocent mistake, but it is also a potential problem for you in the future. You may want to ask Dr. Bizzarro (I bet I just misspelled his name, which would send me to an entirely different website) about the misspelling of his name and the problems he has encountered. Just thought you would want to be aware.

Actually I registered my domain before he did.

Domain creation date for gaypervs.com (my site):
Creation Date: 03-aug-2003

Domain creation date for gayperv.com (not my site):
Record Created on 13-Aug-2003

So I regsitered the site 10 days before he did and had it being developed at that point as well.

Funny how that happens isnt it? It's weird how sometime a person can think they have a completely new idea and name and then to find out that its being done. My nick is one I have had for a lot of years. Kicked it around quite a few amateur boards and what not, so when i finally decided to put up spazlabz.com I didnt think anything of it. a few weeks later, on a lark, I typed in spazlabs.com and sure as shit, someone had a site up with that name. and quite awhile before mine as it turns out. But his is a cartoon site (non adult) and mine is video compression, I contacted him and explained that I had bought the domain and was putting a site up and what it was about. I did it as a courtesy ya know? he never replied. I just wanted to point the situation out to you so you were aware is all, didnt mean to imply anything if thats how it came across :)

Well I dont know if I can help or offer any more advice then whats been said so far but as a tgp submitter I'd be happy to start submitting my galleries as soon as you are ready. The site looks good and I bet you will do well if you can get some traffic through there.

I'm also a partner at the other gayperv. Its run by a guy who runs some of the biggest gay tgps out there. Nice guy and I'm sure you guys can both run your sites with out problems...its a big internet:)

HAHAHAH I have never done acid before in my life, I actually picked the nick up when I downloaded a chat client called AcidMaX and that was the default name in it, so I just kept it..hahaha.

Where you from in MI? I am from MI too north of Mt. Pleasant in a small town called Lake.
