Can you make more $ with free trials
 

I mean you get paid less per signup if its a free trial and you have a higher chance of getting a lower conversion rate. Although is it worth it, or are u just better off using the regular payment options. What I mean is does it matter to a surfer if a trial membership is $0.00 or $3.95. Does that $3.95 made a big difference in their decision to signup?

I love promoting free tirals, but oddly enough when ARS went fro free to $1 trials a few months ago (before the big changes over there) my revenue actually increased!

It's a very good question, and a very hard one to answer. I'm sure you'll get a lot of differing opinions.

I've just looked at my stats for two programs. One is free trial, the other is $1. While the free trial gets more traffic, I convert better with $1 and get about the same amount of signups.

The way I see it (most of the time) surfers are going to have to use their credit card even for a free trial, and a few bucks isnt much, so I usually go for the paid trials.

I started this bizz 3 years ago with free trials, i sold them good, even there are enough sponsors with free trials, i only can sell paid trials for a long time now....lo but i never give up, i have free trials on some of my old sites.

I think it's easier to sell a $1 trial then a free trial. People are more and more suspicious these days and the idea of getting all that porn for free sounds kind of "to good to be true" while paying at least something for it ($1) makes more sense. Just my opinion.
