That's one of those things where, if you have to ask, you definitely don't want to mess with it.

Basically, it's the use of scripts that show one page to the spiders, and another to the surfer.

Some people will say there are legitimate use of such scripts, but, in general, the SE's don't agree.

Using them requires a wholesale commitment to blackhat seo, with all that involves.
