Creeps listing my site -help and advice needed
 

HI there,
I need some advice on what to do about some creeps who are listing my site on a page advertising or rather referring to illegal young girls. I was checking listing on Google cos I like to keep an eye on where my sites are listed.
First off it directed to a page where it loads a dialler if you click enter |pissed| and then when I checked googles cache it was this page of "young girl" stuff |pissed| |pissed|
Any suggestions how to tackle this prob.

Sadly, there isn't always a whole lot you can do about something like that.

You can whois the domain and email asking to be taken off, but chances are they will just ignore you.

You can publicize the domain here on the boards, so that you have something to point to that says you aren't linked there by your own choice.

And thats about it. You have little legal recourse, and what you do have would be expensive, and there is no guarantee it will work.

A slightly different problem happened to me. My freebie page got hotlinked from within a site with a name akin abusedteen .com and with whiffs of underage imagery.

I concluded that they had a script that hotlinked my free pics and that also removed the tiny watermark on the edge of the pic.

I thought OK, let's try some poison-pill...

I re-watermarked all my free pics with HUGE letters smack in the middle, using transparent embossing. It did not affect the conversion.

The next day, the hotlinking ceased.

Maybe you could change something on your site that would act as a poison pill for them ?

Thanks for your replies. As suggested here are the domains .DON'T click directly on them as they go to a dialler frontpage. To see what problem is type into google the url and check out googles cache. It's not only my site that's listed |pissed|
