What was your first 45 record?

Mine was Chubby Checker [the twist], my Mom got it for me when it first came out .....I couldn't dance very good as I was just a tot,and all my parents friends found my twistin to be somewhat humorous..... but I do remember watching them push the center plug into the 45 to fit on my parents turntable......LOL

This really shows my age!!!

The 1st & only 45 I ever bought was Led Zeppelin's The Immigrant Song & that was only because it had the unreleased B side called Hey Hey What Can I Do.

Well that was the first one I actually bought with my own money - don't ask me why...

I've got tons of mid/late 60's R&R 45s though that I inherited from my siblings.

Ok, you already know my first album was Starland Vocal Band.
Though, I'd had acquired a bunch of 45's from the neighbor at the cabin (whom for those interested, we had a hot dog roast last weekend at the cabin - about a 3 minute boat ride)
Anyway, after getting a bunch of free Bread 45's.
My first one was Mony, Mony - Tommy James and the Shondells.

I also remember the one of the 1st Recordable Cassette units for a car, an RCA model.

The first one I actually bought with my own money was I Get Around - The Beach Boys, although I had a bunch of Beatles 45s that a friend didnt want - still have them - I went to see Help and a Hard Days Night when they first came out in the movie houses - my friend figured I really liked the Beatles and gave them all to me.
The first that I remember playing at a friends house was Sugar Shack

that was back in 1991, I was 13 at the time and didn't have the money to buy the CD-single :D

For my 5th or 6th birthday, my parents got me the 45 of Glen Campbell's "Rhinestone Cowboy", which I'd made sure they knew was my number one birthday present request. I'm sure I drove them insane playing it over and over again.

Only bought a couple of 45s as they were "going out of style". It was either "Everybody is Kung Fu Fighting" or "Crocodile Rock".

When I was a preteen my parents (nor I) had a 45 player so my first singles were the old 33.3rpm can't remember which ones but they are in storage waiting to be sold on Ebay. :) Along with stacks of mint condition 45's :D

I remember having several Kiss tunes on 45 when I was in elementary school. That's what I used to jam out to.

Ah, the good old days. Back when the music didn't need to be crystal clear to be rocking. Remember just stomping on the floor or banging on the wall to get the record past a skip?

Ah, the old plastic Close 'N' Play. Remember it well! :)

Only until I made the technological leap to taping a nickel to the arm of the record player.

I really can't remember a first one - I have bought thousands and thousands...as DJ I have bought all disco/TOP40 hits and for myself a lot too.

But one I remember from early days is Eagles "Witchy Woman". I still like it.
