New to building FreeSites

Need a few pointers...

I've uploaded a template that i was thinking about using for my freesites... content and such is not included, but you'll get the idea.

Basically I'm looking for anything that would blatantly not get me listed on 90% of the linked lists out there.

http://www.supertgps.com/free/yanks/yanks.html

I kept it pretty bare because i'm not planning on changing the number of out going links, or the number of recips.

I was just gonna make it look purty with text formating, colors and a few graphics.

Thanks,

Hi kbbq, welcome to the board. :)

Your template looks fine. Just be sure to make up enough different ones that we don't get sick of seeing the same one all the time.

Hey kbbq, glad to see you over here and welcome to the baord.

That template looks to be fine for getting listed.

Hey cleo! thanks for the welcome. :)

Hey ramster, I figured that I should do my trial and error here and on submitting to Linked Lists instead of getting blacklisted

Question,
When you say change the template design, do you mean that I need to change all 4 pages look and feel? or just the warning page and index page?

Thanks,

edited because what i had before didn't make sense. LOL

The reviewers see your warning page first so that is the most important to keep fresh looking, but the rest of the site should match the design of the warning page so you kind of have to do all of them.

Keeping your ads fresh and using different layouts is also good for sales.

coo.
thanks for the tips... i'll start busting these out :)
When I've got one ready to submit , I'll repost here just to make sure.

Thanks again,

Oh yeah..
next question...

does gallery 1 have to be part of the same series as gallery 2?

Or can gallery 1 be of girl A and gallery 2 be of girl B?

Thanks,

Cleo 2004-06-21 11:43 PM

As long as each gallery is a series and both galleries are the same nice you should be fine.

Thanks Cleo! |shake|

Now I'm kind of stuck in the gallery submission mind frame where I go through my content and hand pick the images that i want to use. Now for Linked List galleries, is there any standard of gallery content?

What I mean is, let's say it's just 20 pics of pretty softcore stuff. The same girl in lingerie in a bunch of different poses.

Because i've had galleries from some large TGPs decline my gallery saying it did not contain enough nudity. Does that rule apply to Linked List galleries as well?

And if there's a FAQ or something like that where answers to this stuff is posted, please tell me so i'm not wasting anyone's time and appearing to be a jackass :) (might be too late LOL )

Thanks,

How many templates would be a reasonable amount for someone submitting one freesite/day? Maybe 7?

If you submit every day I would go for 20 templates... It's a bitch to build them but you should be covered for quite a while.

Ramster 2004-06-22 08:25 AM

Templates? Maybe 7 is fine but after a month go make another 7. Submitting 1 template site a week and repeating it after a week is fine using each template 4 times but after a month I'd make 7 new ones. And make the colors different.

You're fine using softcore non nude galleries BUT generally the girl getting nude in a large portion of gallery 2 is required. Unless you submit to lingerie or other categories a few link lists have. If you submit to babes or teen, there needs to be some nudity.

Next question...

how frequently can i reuse content? Am i looking at the same time as TGPs.. around the 3 month mark? or can i recycle more often?

Thanks,

Next newbie question...

I see a lot of the large Linked Lists, don't like to be listed on a page that's labeled like...

www.acme.com/free/1/index15434.html

I was planning on using Dream Submitter to auto generate all my index/warning pages, but now i'm thinking that this is going to have to be a lot more manual than I expected.

My question is, if someone submitted the URL above, would you list it? or would you rather be...
www.acme.com/free/1/15432/index.html

Thanks.

oh.. btw.. are these just like totally fekin retarded questions i'm asking?

Greenguy 2004-06-23 07:08 AM

Jim likes to say that the only stupid question is the question not asked :)

As far as the set up of those URL's, if I'm even in the slightest of bad moods, I tend to just decline the submits with all kinds of numbers in them (unless it's the date) There's too many things that you can do with URL's & directories that will benefit you & numbers, IMHO, are not one of them.

I assume that you want to use one of these little assistance programs because it does the recips for you - while it might be a pain in the ass at 1st, once you get a system down with what linklist has what categories, it's really not that hard to go to a bookmark, grab the recip & throw it on the page. (assuming that it's a niche/category specific recip - otherwise, just start a page on your hard drive with the sites that have general recips & just copy & paste them as needed)

Most of this stuff is a big pain in the ass when you 1st start - but as time goes by you'll set up a system to cut down on the time it takes to do these things & life will be easier :)

kbbq 2004-06-29 11:41 PM

alrighty..... next question....

For SEO stuff, what are the bare minimum things that I should have on there?

Rumor is that META tags are pretty much useless. I was just going to concentrate on key word density, huge font sizes and what not.

The SEO thread seems a little more advanced that what i was looking for or should i just do the research and read up on it as much as I can?

Thanks again,
