What do you do when you find blatant CP ?

Do you

a: run to the boards for help in reporting and hopes of calling the owner out

b: Close it and forget it

c: Report it anon and move on

d: panic and run every zero fill and history and index.dat wiper you can find?

or

e: investigate it yourself to see who is responsible for sending you there so you may report the webmaster to the authorities as well as the cp site?

reason i ask this is becuase I came across one surfing sexocean.com for pure cj trades and one of the galleries redirected to a cp site featuring a HUGE 15 scroll deep front page tour of like 25 girls ranging from 11-14 years old. At first I thought it was just another one of those "borderline" teen sites... until I read the bios placed atop each set of pics... Saying age, sexual preferences and showing full on spread nudity,,

Keep in mind, clearing cache and running zero fills does fuck all folks... hard drives have tracks sectioned off with little spaces between them that data bleeds into.... I have once thrown a hard drive in the river.. I am not prepared to do this again.

Ditto, plus I notify their host.

I have reported several, even called with a follow up on one or two of them (did you know that Cypress does not co-operate with the US on this problem) it amazes me that people would even consider trying to make their money with this type of content, but to think they are STILL doing it boggles the mind. We all have to make sure there is no safe place for these predators

I always report it to asacp.

NEVER investigate this stuff yourself!!! It puts it on your computer and you don't want that. Just a heads up.

when CP shows up I lose my temper quick because of all the popup shit so I simply close it all down. since I have google toolbar popup turned on I didn't run on CP yet so maybe now I'll take the time to report it. I rarely stumble across it as I don't operate in that part of the biz where CP is mostly present (CJ, toplists). happened maybe once a year and I just closed all the annoying stuff down and moved on with my work.

I know of a few cases where the webmaster reported the cp to their local authorities, and of course the cops came and arrested them. Yes, that's right, the guys who reported the cp got arrested, and their computers seized. Never report cp to local cops, ALWAYS report it to ASACP.

I used to work for a company that ran a message board service. (in example VBulletin is the makers of this message board, but I didn't work for VBulletin) So people could come in and make message boards about anything legal that they wanted. Sports, Cooking, The Weather.........whatever.

Well every once in awhile we'd get a CP message board and I this was in 1999 and I didn't know about ASACP at the time so I reported it to the local FBI. They did NOTHING. In 1999, the Internet was still a foreign concept to a lot of people so when I was telling the FBI agents that we had IP addresses of all these offenders, it meant nothing to them. It was really upsetting. So all we did was shut down the board. |sad|

Like has been said, best one can do is report the domain to the ASACP, web host, and registrar.
