To preface this statement I would like to say I have been submitting galleries and running TGP's for a while now and I am new to the LL and freesite part of the biz and have been submitting freesites just starting this week.

I am a pretty intensive investigative person and like to look at everything and read everything I can on a subject before I get too heavy into it.

In roaming around linklists and looking at what they listed I paid close attention to the Boob and BBW fetish sections. I decided long ago to stick with what I know and love and those two are my fetishes(OK, not the HUGE BBW's but I like some meat on em).

I noticed something disturbing on a lot of link lists and I am not sure if it is the LL owners or the submitters who are doing this but in the descriptions for the BBW freesites I saw an awful lot of descriptions like "Check out this nasty lard ass" "This fatass bitch is nasty" etc. etc.

If it is the submitters, they have no clue what the niche they are trying to promote is about. They need to find something that turns them on and leave this niche to the people who love it. I happen to like big girls and would NEVER purchase a membership from a freesite that would use those kind of descriptions. Your basically telling the surfer that you think he is a sick bastard for liking what he likes.

If it is the LL owners putting in these descriptions, then shame on you too. Leave the descriptions up that the guys who know the niche are submitting for god's sake if you don't like big women that much.

You don't have to like the niche links you are putting up, but don't be derogatory towards the content because of it. We are all here to make money after all.

I happen to agree with you. BBW lovers are loyal followers of the niche and do not want, or deserve to see, degradation of the niche.

That's indicative of why some of us make money with galleries/sites and some don't.

I agree with you 100%, but some people are idiots & don't know how to market what they don't personally like.

Yes in deed its a sad fact that some promote the BBW's in a very negative way :( But there are some who do know and love the niche too :) I have seen it first hand many many times lots of webmasters hate fat people and will promote in that way |angry|

The people promoting that way obviously don't know the niche, although it could be said they are trying to attract people like themselves that probably have some strange compulsion to look at things they find distasteful (and I'm not saying it is... just that may be how they look at it)... almost voyeuristic as them looking in the privacy of their own homes isnt gonna get them ridicule from their buddies.

The other way to look at it is the more people out there not making money and therefore giving up on this business the better in my humble opinion... more pie for those of us that do make money.

Something else to keep in mind in the BBW market - there are a lot of sponsors that market their BBW pay sites in the derogatory fashion as well - and a lot of free site submitters are playing the game of following the sponsors lead to try and make the transition to the paysite smooth - I totally agree that its not the way to market BBW, but by the same token, those that are marketing those particular paysites are doing the right thing.

Glad to see you guys saw where I was coming from. I really should not have brought it up. Now some of the guys marketing this way might change their approach and start making money.

It was just a little disturbing to see it and I wondered if they don't like the niche that much then why even bother promoting it or having a section for it on their LL?

I will just keep promoting it positively from now on and hope these guys continue to bury a hole for themselves.

I think gay sites and bbw sites are overall the most mis-marketed sites in the industry (BDSM sites are close too)

I have successfully done some galleries for gay and tranny sites and neither one of them turn me on in the least. I just try to use my imagination with the text I put up and never represent the niche in a negative way.

I don't think you have to be into a certain niche to promote it(although it does help a lot). If you just make an attempt to keep your personal bias out of it you can still make some sales.

Hell, I dislike looking at Tranny content but I do rather well at converting it when I try.

This is a business and I just don't see why some folks don't approach it that way.

I totally agree with you. It's all about understanding your target audience. Don't understand the tranny niche? Join a yahoo group dedicated to trannies and see what the enthusiasts have to say. Read up on it and study it.

When I first started building gay sites, I had a gay friend sit down an explain why my wording was all wrong and it helped increase my sales. His quite to me "man, that sounds like a straight boy playing gay to get free beers at the gay bar"

It's too easy for webmasters to bring negative and demeaning wording in because of personal views and they're leaving cash on the table

I am learning more everyday. I am very impressed that the "big dogs" in the LL world have no problems offering advice and helping out us little guys. You all deserve a round of applause for that.|party

Yeah, I just don't get why some people won't spend time on the most basic of research. When I'm trying to think of text, I go down the list of recently submitted freesites on a few of the big link lists. I try to notice trends, and then I go through the tours of a few paysites in the niche.

Not the MOST thorough investigation, but I always find a few angles I hadn't even thought of.

Same thing applies to mature niches and probably most others too nowadays...
The number of site submissions entitled "old sluts", "fat whores", "skanky women", etc etc - lol - I'm gonna start a used car business and call it "rusty old pieces of shit" - that should get the customers flocking in :D
