Newbie freesite asking for his first review

Hey guys

I've been lurking around for a little while and had decided to jump into doing a bit of freesite building. Please take a look at my first effort >> RIGHT HERE and let me know what you think.

Please be as blunt as you need to be....

Some things I am particularly interested in:

a) I noticed in a few threads a limit of 3 links per page - does this include the index / entry page - some sites I have seen have more like 5

b) Are there any benefits me having the link to gallery 2 from gallery 1 and back again? Or shoudl i be wanting my surfer to click back to see the ads on the "main" page again?

c) Am I too soft in my marketing? Should I get a little tougher?

Anywayz - before I become a novelist I'll stop right here - remember be blunt - I'd rather have my feelings hurt and learn something!

Thanks in advance - and thanks to all those posters and resposnders I have taken notes from when building my first free site!

That site looks great :D
I see no problems.

a) those 3 links to outside pages apply to all pages of your site. Your exit link and 2257 link are not counted.

b) those links make the site easy to navigate and are good for SE traffic

c) You can never be aggresive enough :)
but this one seems fine to me :)

oh yeah, welcome aboard |waves|

Welcome to the board Leedogg |waves|

I am pretty new at the freesite submitting also, but I have to say that is a pretty decent looking site to me. I have been going to one LL after another for a couple weeks looking at freesite after freesite trying to get a feel for it and as a surfer I think it looks pretty good.

A) I think the three link rule only counts links to sponsors or to your own sites. I have a enter link, exit link and 2257 link on all of the index pages and have not had a problem at all.

B) I did it the same way you did where I was linking the two galleries to each other but changed it on the advice of some folks here at the board. I now link the galleries back to the main page so that they have to look at the banners again before they go to the second gallery.

C) Fonz is right about being aggressive. Although I am like you and try to keep it from being too annoying for the surfer.

Good Luck with it!

I want new submitters.... and I try to approve every site... but the bottom banner has "enter" on it and it has hardcore pix....
that would get you rejected at our sites.....
Not all link lists would reject you for this.. but some would....
Otherwise I think the site looks great! :)
Take Care & Good Luck!

Hi leedogg,

Site looks very nice for your first one!

a) I am somewhat lenient on how many links I allow. The rule is 3-4, but it completely depends on how the site is layed out.

b) As was said before, this makes for easy navigation, and the SE likes them

c) Looks good to me

I am always looking for new, quality submitters, so keep me in mind!

Jennifer

Thanks for all the encouragement guys
Looks like all I need to do then is drop the hardcore banner and I'm ready to go submitting.

Just one more thing - what sort of traffic could one expect from submitting to say 40 of the bigger LLs?

Again I have never touched the LL / Freesite side of the industry so have little clue what to expect.

Cheers for the tips!
