It is looking like rain all week so maybe I can finally catch up on some work :)

This is my favorite day of the week. Everything is 1 big blur to me...
It's raining outside so I think i'm gonna stay inside for the rest of the day.
Oh yeah, just found out I'm going to be an uncle in 7 months :)

Good Monday Peoples!

Short work-week for me this time around - I'm off to take my step-daughter to a field hocky camp at Syracuse University on Thursday & since I'll be in the area, I invited myself over to Jim's house for the weekend :D

And only one more day of me babysitting this small insane all black cat of my sisters. She's taking a liking to watching the cursor move around the monitor & then attacking it every now & then - kittens are so fucking cute :)

Good Monday, weekend was busy with family events, but hopefully this week slows down to a normal pace, seems like things have been going so fast this summer and I have hardly had a moment to myself.

That's this weekend??? Holy Shit...I forgot all about it. I guess I need to break into one of my guest rooms to get it ready. Somehow, they all got locked and the doors closed. Don't forget to bring your own towel :) I have one towel and my son has one :)

I do have good news though...things around here are going back to normal on August 6th. If you know what I mean :)

My system still ain't up and running.

I am concluding the installation CD I have been trying to use is bad.

Tested both hard drives with the companies disk check floppies. Both drives are fine.

Doing an erase of my entire IBM drive 60GB now. Most of the data I tried to save ended up with lots of lost chains and clusters.

Norton Disk Doctor cannot fix it. Far too many problems.

So for a Monday not bad, this will be the first time I get to be with my wife in 13 days.

Considering this is the 1st time I've had to reinstall the OS since 2001, and had no issues for the 3 years...it's not a big black eye on MS from my POV.

This is the worst problem I've ever encountered though.

Windows ME will install every time. Windows 2000 and Windows XP will not install.

The only thing I haven't done up to this point was install and run a full virus scan.

I figured I had to do that because I am running out of ideas.

It found and fixed 1 virus so far. I am really hoping that is the problem and I research it and find it does some nasty MBR stuff.

Though, I have used the IBM Drive Fitness Test tool to erase the entire HD and ran fdisk /mbr several times.

Have also run FIXMBR from both Win2K recovery and WinXp recovery.

Every time I try to install either, it hangs when trying to find my hard drives.

Doesn't matter that I wiped the boot disk clean, tried removing each hard drive and making a new partition with partition magic or a WinME floppy boot disk.

Hmmmmm. Maybe I will grab my motherboard BIOS and flash it in case something can fuck that up.
