Anyone ever use those TGP traffic builders?

So I recall seeing some people on here say that they will build your tgp's traffic up for you for $$.

I'm wondering if any of you have tried them out? I'm most interested in references for DamageX, Nelto, and i think it was Viking (all user names of the people that post on this board).

I'd like to know what they charged you, what the name of the tgp is, and how well you like their service. I've already gotten two disgruntled feedback about Nelto, so I'm more interested in referrals for DamageX and Viking.

Jason 2004-07-14 11:31 AM

YAY! I got moved to one of the forums that gets even less traffic than the main page!! They should really subcategorize everything down to more detail, so there are 65 categories with 8 posts each, that'll kill off the rest of what little traffic they get.

Surfn 2004-07-14 11:36 AM

It could have been moved to the spam board. This is where the tgp people read first.

DamageX 2004-07-14 01:18 PM

Surfn, this is a business question, has nothing to do in this forum. TGP peopl hang out at AWI. Had I not had BoardTracker set to notify me about my nick being posted, I would've never known about this thread.

Anyway, Jason, feel free to ICQ me (1566665) and I'll show you samples of my work, as well as give you details about what I can help you with.

Greenguy 2004-07-14 03:55 PM

Jason - TGP questions, comments, etc go in this forum because, like Surfn said, TGP people read this part of the board.

Just because the main forum gets more views doesn't mean you'd get any replies. Think of it along the lines of getting an asian gallery listed on the biggest tit's TGP in the world - many would see your gallery, but no one would buy.

kristian 2004-07-15 11:15 AM

You have to wonder why someone would build traffic to a site that is not their own. If they can build a tgp to 100K daily uniques, then why not do it for their own domains, and pay someone to review for them? I'd build 10 sites or more to 100k each and pay someone to review galleries.

These services sound too good to be true. I could be wrong, but nothing good comes easy.

kristian 2004-07-15 11:17 AM

Of course . . . if anyone would like to prove me wrong, I'd happily let you get one of my sites to 100K. I'll even put up pics of me eating my hat :D

Ramster 2004-07-15 03:35 PM

I've heard of many people offering this. The way they do it is to slam it with bought traffic and work the trade script through trades. Their speciality is the trade script and they seem to know how to drop bad trades and work in better trades. The idea being once the bought traffic is dropped the site will still stay at 100k.

Not sure how well it works but seems like a good idea on paper.

I agree, it seems excellent. I'm always wary when something sounds too good though. :)

kristian, why do webmasters promote per signup sponsors, instead of revshare ones? Simple, for the fast cash and lack of hassle. Same reason why I build sites for others, instead of bothering with my own. Don't get me wrong, I have run sites of my own too, but I sold them, since I was too busy building for others.

As for proving you wrong, I'll be more than happy to do that. In fact, I'll offer you a hefty 20% discount, in exchange for pictures of you eating your hat posted on all the major boards. So there, I've put my money where my mouth is, care to put yours? ;)

I've clearly offended you and it seems you've taken my comments almost personally. I'd never hire someone in this situation, nor would I hand over passwords to my sites. I'll certainly look into hiring someone however. If this really is a genuine service, then it sounds like a sweet deal. Better luck elsewhere, mate :)

Nice way to back out. :D

No, you haven't offended me and I don't need luck. I'm pretty much booked solid as it is. It would've been a great pleasure seeing you eat your hat, that's why I made you the offer. However, it seems you'll take my word for it, since you won't stand by your initial offer to eat your hat, would someone prove you wrong. :D

You're simply unprofessional and aggressive. If you had approached me in a different manner and voiced your offer in a different tone, I would more than likely have hired you. I pay many people here and elsewhere good money for carrying out work I either cannot do myself or for which I dont have the time. In fact, at the moment, I'm retaining a number of people for various services (last thing completed was a sweet logo by fuck-find). The truth is, I truly am curious about this service, will more than likely pay someone, I would just rather not hire you. I find you rude. |waves|

It's OK, I find you paranoid and coward. Good luck hiring other people. |waves|

And you wonder why :

A) I'd rather not give you any money

and

B) I'd rather not give you access to my sites

Because your word is worth about as much as my fart. You said you'd eat your hat if someone proved you wrong. I stepped up and offered to do that. You backed out like the chicken shit you are, claiming whatever made-up excuses you could find in such a short time. Anyway, I'm done with you, you're not worth my time. Go waste someone else's.

kristian 2004-07-15 08:46 PM

The funny part is, I really am interested in this service. You can call me all the names you like, it doesn't change the fact that I simply choose not to take "you" up on your offer. I don't trust you. I work too hard on my sites to risk someone mucking them up malliciously. Call me paranoid, but you are incredibly aggressive.

Here's how you could have approached me:

Hi Kristian. You're right, this kind of thing does sound too good to be true. All I can say to you is, like Ramster mentioned, I am an expert in building traffic to tgps and making sure your traffic stays high once I pass the reigns over. Here are my portfolio and my main site urls. You will also see a list there of webmasters and sites that have benefitted from my service (some have icq, so maybe you could speak to some of these webmasters?). If you think you might like to give me a try, feel free to hit me up. I'll even through in a heft 20% discount. Oh, don't go eating your hat, that's murder on the teeth! LOL All the best, buddy. :)

I would then have seen you as professional and friendly : the kind of guy I'd do business with. :)

No, that's how I would've approached a potential client who doesn't make a practice out of bashing what me, and other TGP builders, do. Again, I took you up on your offer, I put my money where my mouth is. You backed out like a coward piece of shit. :D

Pay me and I'll be friendly. Bash me and I'll shit all over you. Is that professional enough for you? :D

kristian 2004-07-15 11:09 PM

You know, this started with me voicing an opinion. It wasn't specifically directed at you. When you approached me in a manner I deemed aggressive, I decided it would be foolish to hand over my money and site passwords. I'm a chickenshit for not hiring a person who's attacking me on a forum? I'm just being sensible with my money and livelihood.

You charge $2000 for a 100K site (unless your prices have changed).

Let me ask you this, do you really know me? You'll notice that I haven't presumed to know you -- because I don't. How do you know I'm not the sort of man to spend $2k on having your arms and legs broken? I'm not saying that I am, but who knows?

I'm sorry if I offended you. Believe it or not I am. Your work obviously means a lot to you. So I apologise.

I'm willing to overlook being called a chickenshit (etc) on the proviso that we can "virtually" shake hands and let bygones be bygones.

Forgive and forget? Or still at war? :)

|shake|

DamageX 2004-07-15 11:19 PM

I apologize for calling you names and acting unprofessionally. I guess you jumped to conclusions by assuming I took personal offense from your first post, which I didn't, and my I blew my cap over your following ones, letting my short fuse get the better of me.

Anyway, all in all, we definitely got off on the wrong foot here. You're right, let's forgive and forget. |shake|

Thank goodness thats over.

I can feel the love again :-)

I always do. Nothing from you though, unless your nick is something else on ICQ. :)

Monkey Spanker 2004-07-30 06:31 PM

Well, I am glad the unpleasantness is over|shake|

Now I personally haven't tried using a traffic builders services because I am stubborn and think I can still figure it out on my own.

I do know of several friends that have used DAMAGEX's services and were extremely satisfied. So much so that I recommend him to anyone who asks me and I put his ICQ up on my webmaster pages. Take that for what it's worth.

DAMAGEX is as much a smartass as I am and we have about the same short fuse(we have exchanged words on another board but nothing too bad). If I chose to use his business I would have no fear of allowing him into my scripts or my server. He delivers repeatedly on what he promises and I have never seen a complaint yet.

My two cents, just wanted to throw them in there.

DamageX 2004-07-30 06:38 PM

Thanks for the props Monkey Spanker, appreciate it. |waves|
