Dumb question regarding preview thumbs
 

I don't do TGP much, here is a dumb question: The preview thumbs used on a TGP, are they hosted by the TGP or are they pulled from individual sites?

they have a upload thru the browser thingy when you submit

Some scripts, like the one that I use, grabs and crops one of your pics at random and stores this on my server for use as the preview.

Some of the other scripts after you hit submit you get a page where first you pick a pic and then you crop it and then the resulting file is stored on their server.

Most are like what Tommy said where you upload the correct size pic in the browser to their server.

As already said you just make thumbs before hand and upload them with your submit. There is usually a file size limit of about 6-7K for a thumb, sometimes 5K for the 88x88 thumbs.

Like the url Tommy showed (my site, hehe) the script will allow you to crop a thumb online after you submit too which is nice. To get better click thrus you should crop your own rather then let the script grab one to "compete" with the other thumbs for clicks.

Some sites will hotlink it from your site tho, but thats not too many I guess.. jenny's bookmarks does it for one
