Earthlink tech support is just plain sad, as is most phone tech support. They blamed it on Bellsouth since they basically lease their DSL from Bellsouth.
What really got me is that it took a bunch of phone calls, two trouble ticket numbers, and hours on the phone before I could talk to a tech that would give me the URL of someplace that I could download the file without going through the DSL modem which didn't work without the upgrade.
The tech was very impressed that my cell phone does 128k downloads. They basically told me that there was no sense in me trying to use my cell phone to download the file because cell phones can't do better then 14.4k downloads. They had never heard of GPRS cell service.
