You know this begs the question of, "Who" was the person you did not employ???????????
Come on Jimbo, your getting slow you old fart, you should have been asking this question!
Shoot, we all have big regrets.
My biggest regret was not jumping on the WebFather domain game when I could...I remember when he was peddling banners for $50 each and he was getting them made for $15 in New Mexico. Then one day is starts these $50 prize for who could submit the best domain names that are available...on YNOT in 1996-1997.
I wached him build this empire and speak of his vision that domains were like virtual real estate...alot of us kinda blew this off as Rick was snapping up the domains for peanuts...
Even if he paid 10K for a domain back then, we thought he was nuts, now look at him..he sells men.com for 1.3 million, he owns 4-6K domains with all type in traffic.
I started in 1997 buying domains, and it was a little late in the game but I still got good ones because I was not competing against scripts and technologies to get them which folks do now.
Ya, I made over $150K reselling what I bought but I could have made millions if I would have been more aggressive in getting domains and buying them used from owners that sat on them back when their value was not realized.
I registered my first domain in 1995, and if I would have just bought more than the one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmph, this regret still bugs me. It would have been one thing to wish I had done it but I came on the scene late but thats not the case.
I was there from Day 1, and was there when Rick had this idea and was there when he made his first million...
Argh.
