Honestly I think the players are crazy. They should have taken the deal, it was good and way up from their first offer of $31million and salary linkage to league revenues. How can the players seriously complain about making millions a year when their salaries are on a higher percentage of league revenues then ANY other pro league today?
I don't think they will get another offer of $42.5million with no linkage again. So where does the NHL go? To a new format altogether somehow.
Form a new league? Dissolve the Players Association? (which would be bad overall) Replacement players of some sort which would involve new players, rookies and drafts and unsigned players from the current NHL (since they are not under contract at all).
I hope something is resolved soon.
