Morning already? Didn't we like just do this like yesterday?
Just another day of going to the gym and then back home to look at nasty naked pics for me today.
I mostly listen to house music also known as trance, industrial, tecno, or dance, take you pick of names since it is all pretty much mindless music with a beat. In a desperate search to find some type of radio to listen to since the local South Beach gay dance radio station went hard rock, not sure if they are still gay or not, I've been looking at alternatives since all the local radio stations here are now crap. Actually it is kind of strange as an old time hard rock channel went Latin so the local dance station decided to go rock and it turns out that Disney owns them.
Yesterday I checked out XMRadio. Not bad but I would have to buy a new radio to enjoy it or listen to the not so great computer version of it and also have to pay a small monthly fee. Also there is no decent way to record stuff from it since the computer version is streamed through the web browser which also means that I couldn't easily stream it through my Airport Express into my home stereo unless I went back to a hack that allowed sounds from my web browser to be streamed but then such things as fucking Flash banners would also end up going through my home stereo.
I decided to check out the radio stations in iTunes. Wow lots of good stuff in there and its all free. It is also mostly commercial free and sounds great.
I'm loving the programing from this station
www.di.fm
I see they even have some kind of program for Windows users to listen and record their programing. It's pretty kewl as while the song is playing people log in and rate the music and post comments about the music.
Since iTunes doesn't allow you to record radio I spent $15 buck on this
www.xample.ch which records each song, gives it the proper name, genre, and other info, and then adds it to iTunes so that it ends up on my iPod.
I left it running last night and now I have 10 hours of commercial free trance that I can listen to when I'm not at home by burning to CD or using my iPod like today when I go to the gym.
Just in case you don't know already iTunes is free and available for both the Mac and the PC.
