Until you use a DVR with the TiVo service you will not get what is so special about TiVo, kind of like those who have not spent some time using a Mac.
I have the two tuner DVR with TiVo from DirecTV and it is so great that I'll probably get another one for my bedroom. The only problem with the ones from DirecTV is they have the USB ports disabled for some odd reason.
