It's not so much the thinking up of the name, but the checking that it's available, and checking it's history. Sometimes it's worth paying a couple of hundred dollars just to save your time. I turn it round the other way and watch to see what pops up, and then work out a site for it. That's how I ended up with the nick Head Boy.
I've just had somone reg a biz domain through me. I charged him 9 dollars and it's a number, letter, letter name. He's just put it up for sale at $10,000 to see if anyone is mad enough to buy it. It never works for me, and I suspect I'll be a bit stressed if he sells it. He found the name btw.
