New Boy In The Class

Greetings one and all. Thought I might introduce myself, being new here and all, and bore you all to death with a short background

My handle is PreVert. It's unlikely you'll have heard the name. But I have just finished putting myself through a two year self-taught webmaster apprenticeship, deliberately not doing all those good things we all know work - talking to people, making friends, asking questions, etc.

The reasons? I made my own mistakes and have learned from them, and will hopefully be able to anticipate most others in the future. I've looked, listened and learned. Now I feel I know my own limits, those things that will work for me, and those that simply won't.

Ran a Linksite [now closed], a TGP site [closes in November], had galleries or sites posted on everyone from The Hun to Richard to Danger Dave, and still run a "Toy Store". All part-time. Have watched all the big hitter sites and boards, and know a good deal about most of the big webmasters and how they operate their sites. Spent a few, made a few [very few] bucks.

Now I'm going full-time. It's time to talk to people, make friends and ask questions. And as far as I'm concerned this is certainly the best board site to make a start. There is a great deal of knowledge and experience loitering amongst these pages. The "New Site" is almost ready to launch [watch the Link Trade board], and it's going to be successful because I intend to use that knowledge and experience to supplement my own [which is still limited]

Anyway. If anyone has got this far, should just say I'm certainly look forward to threading with you in due course, and even striking up a few friendships along the way
