Glad you're back and online!
Unfortunately, I wasn't one of the "lucky 200" - but signup was a quickie
I'm guessing GreenGuy and Jim didn't heed the old warning to backup their important stuff, and unfortunately many of us are the same.
A lot of us skip the warning and don't backup our stuff, always hoping things will never crash - well, in the wonderful world of computers, things do go wrong and they do crash.
I for one will take this example seriously and desperately need to backup my mySQL DB which is on my host's server.
Does anyone here have any recommendations of software or script for doing this?
The way I want to do this is to basically copy all my tables and data every so often (every day?) from my host's mySQL server to a mySQL DB on a server in my office which I backup all the time.
I know of the sqldump command in unix, however I would prefer to run the program on my machine in the office.
We do backup the stuff manually every so often, but this would automate it nicely and provide an exact replica of our tables.
So any help and info is appreciated.
And Good Luck to GGAJ!
