You did the right thing Juggernaut. I just did the same thing, and I was very very stressed as well. I was working at a software company that treated their employees like slaves. You couldn't even take a piss without someone looking over your shoulder. You'll feel much better once you're in control of your life, regardless if that means less money for the short term. But it will take you a few weeks to lose that built-up stress. I wish you luck and no regrets.
