Thank you to everyone being so supportive. I left the job yesterday around 11 am EST. I planned on staying the enter day but the current shit head in charge (An O3 = Captain) took away my Domain admin rights, so I was somewhat useless and powerless to do anything. I went into my section leader and explained to him the problem and that I was heading home. He asked me to stay for the rest of the day and I told him "Why? I am here to do security, monitoring, and help the end users along with 100 other things. Now I have just been turned into a useless body in a cube. I can't help anyone so I'm out." He was really cool and I will miss him greatly. He stated to me that this CPT is doing what the Taliban and insurgents could not do over the past 3 years, getting 1/2 the section to quit. I thought that was funny. Well I wish them luck as they will surly need it. I and another one of my friends have left, and to be honest, I'm not trying to pat myself on the back here but we both were the go to guys at that place. It's sad, but true that most of the government employees are hired on, who you know, not what you know. Heck when I 1st got there I was shocked to find all the router and switch OS were not updated for almost 3 years. When I reported a major security issue I was told to not worry about it. WHOH???? And their engineer was wondering why the network ran like shit. Anyway took most the day yesterday to contemplate life and where my next move would be. Funny the wife mentioned FLA. lol I think I put up a post last week asking about the adult business and that state. lol Well I'll decide soon but FLA might have just one more Adult Website owner as a tenant. Thanks for all your replies they really did help in a trying time. It was nice to see the support from so many I barely know, if at all. But when i got a little down I just read them and realized there are worse things that can happen in life, other then leaving a secure 20 year job and losing two pensions. I know the story sounds a little strange (IE Military and federal technician) well I was in the National Guard and a full time federal employee Mon - Fri. We were supporting IT in the states for soldiers overseas and for soldiers here with DOD. Its whats called a duel status job. I must remain in the military in order to hold my federal job. I had to wear a uniform to work every day even tho my job status gave me more powere and pull them most COL or GEN in the building. But it was crazy having to work that way. Anyway just wanted to say thanks guys... Jugg.
